I'm asking because sometimes I neglect mine, and if I neglect it for just one day, it grows into the monster that's trying to eat my house.

Actually, I never have any junk in my mailbox because the email I have is only known to my family and school. I receive an average of about 3 mails a month and none of them are junk mail since I know who is sending them.
I never order anything online and therefore, I am totally unknown to marketing companies that sell and trad email addresses with each other.
I had a throwaway email address that I used when I registered but would be incapable to remember the combination of letters and numbers and therefore, I don't consider it a valid email address.
My main inbox doesn't receive much junk because I use different mail boxes. I specifically use the idgaf email for any unimportant site/store/platform/whatever, so this is the one receiving all that junk I never look at. That preserves my main one.
Just-in-time for obvious junk. Every few weeks for obsolete stuff.
Every day without fail. The number of e-mails is more prolific than kudzu.
I receive about 100 to 150 business related emails per day so I clean out everything not wanted every day from both inbox, spam & junk boxes.
Dude it's merely spam. I'll give you a quick tutorial on the internet.. Do not for any reason click on any link here or anywhere else abroad!
I do my emails weekly
I check what I've kept once a year (it maybe be irrelevant now)
Every few days
