What does your computer shutdown routine consist of?

I ask this question because mine is fairly complicated but thorough. I turn off my monitor. I turn off my USB keyboard. I shut down the computer from software. I then turn off my USB mouse, which is wireless. The only thing I leave on is the charger for my wireless microphone. The charger stays on, but the microphone is turned off.

Most of the time, I don't turn it off, just close it, sleep mode. It's a laptop

I never shut mine down except for updates. If you keep shutting down your computer while you are not using it, that wears out the Power Supply and Power Supply Switch faster, and you'll either burn your computer up or burn up the power supply, and then need to replace the damned thing. I know because I used to have that problem with computers, but then I stopped using shutdown except for updates, etc, and never had the problem since then.

I just close all the programs, save what I need to save, and then hit the shutdown button. It's the same on Mac and PC, for me.

Start> Power> Shutdown

Or alternately just close the lid and let it shut down automatically.

I have a Crapple. I just turn the power button off, but I usually just let run 24/7 unless it needs a restart for updates

Just power down the system from the windows menu, and that is it. The monitor goes to sleep.
