Does anyone else get highly annoyed by a website telling you what your password must contain?

Yeah. Especially when they don't LEAD with that. Like you put in a password and then they say. Your password needs a number. So you put a number in. Then it says you need to hav see a special character. So you put a sprcial character in. Then it says it needs to be at least 11 characters long. And finally i'm like, "mutherf***er you pick the GD password then".😆

Yeah, I do realize it might be tiring sometimes, but take it from a security freak - it's in Your best interest. The longer Your password and the more uncommon characters it contains, the harder a potential brute-force attack on Your password will be. Also, there is way less of a chance of a rainbow table entry existing for Your password if it's long and comnvoluted, meaning Your security improves significantly.

Honestly, if You get tired picking a password, just check the "show password" box, take a cat, and let it loose on Your keyboard. If You are still missing some requirement, simply add a random character that will fulfill it manually, then save the cat-generated password somewhere else and submit the form. 😁

The college i work at had many different systems. Most had a unique set of rules for passwords so as a result people could not use the same password for everything. I used to have to spend the first class period going over all this stuff and resetting people's passwords. It was a pain in the butt.

Yes but as someone that owns a website, I will say it's more for your own security than it is cause they want to put that option, your information security keeps their business out trouble as well, if your account gets a cyber leak, the website gets blamed for it, so consider this a sign that the website you are putting your info in is not a scam and they be about their website, don't take this as a sign of certainly tho, scammers are getting slick.
