Many towns are putting moratoriums on building data centers. Where I live there are several industrial parks where there are businesses and manufacturing facilities and lots of room for expansion. I would have no problem locating a data center there.

Absolutely. I think the purpose for data centers in the first place is extremely nefarious.

But the centers, themselves, emit constant noise pollution and air pollution. They suck up enormous amounts of clean water and pollute water. They use enormous amounts of electricity.

The construction would be noisy, but data centers themselves are audibly imperceptible unless there’s a power outage. The generators that they depend upon are enormous and quite loud.

Many people in my neighborhood are against dara centers. They've drunk the Kool aid passed out by people who saw some of the early data centers that use too much electricity and water.

Data centers being built now are well designed, engineered, built and maintained, and I'm all for them. We all use datacenters every time we do a Google search.

The shitty American "datacenters" are nothing such and it's better to call them "computing garages" instead as they are poorly made and about as useful.

Hence why they need so many of them.

We don’t have space for one in our town. If we did have the open space that construction of a data center requires, I wouldn’t be opposed to it as long as it matches aesthetically.

That depends on the size and how close it is. Data centres exist already but some of the new builds are crazy. Many of them can't be supported by existing infrastructure.
