I was offered the option to move in there, but I much prefer having my own villa in a less urbanized spot.
I understand that gated communities are safer, but I'd feel suffocated in such an environment.

I currently live ina gates community it's not all rainbows and pony. Yes it's safe they do have a security 14/7.
But their rules and restrictions you must follow you can't do everything you want.
Visitors are only allowed up until 7pm.
Order pizza and emergency can be a pain in the ass because of. the gates.
I am not allowed to have big dogs only small dogs. If I want to decorate for Halloween and Christmas I must ask HOA first for everything. Even to plant beautiful flowers I need to ask permission. I mean it's a lot. I had currently listen my home for sale. Moving to a different where I don't have to pay someone else to control my home.
Not bad, but if I could I would live somewhere where my neighbours aren't so close, I like privacy, nature and my space, going out and finding nature and peace, not the old lady watching everything, people recording videos, the person with the dog or someone taking out the trash.
Nope I don’t like houses that have gates, walls and cameras. Not only that they have lots of rules you have to follow in gated communities or similar places.
makes me suffocated like I’m less in a house and more like a prison complex.
and I don’t wanna have a meeting with the HOA every time I wanna do something as small as let my grass grow an inch over regulation.
And one thing I hate above all else is people trying to control me, my life or what I do on the property I bough and I especially don’t like the HOA types snooping around.
Exactly it's like your paying to allowed someone else control your own home.
I don't want to coordinate with other people. If I feel like having a wet t-shirt party in my backyard (not something I'd do normally but I like the option), I wanna do it without dealing with a bunch of grumpy middle-aged women and men whose balls shriveled up decades ago. I don't wanna be a part of the lawnmowing suburban types. I don't wanna become one of those people as long as I keep my senses intact.

Nah wouldn't like to permanently live there. I've lived on military bases for the last 6 years which is "gated" not in the same way as a gated community tho and yes I feel safe here for the most part but there are still dangerous people here it's not as safe as some might think.
My main problems with gated communities are 1) uptight neighbors and 2) home owner association rules and regulations.
My wife and I own a modest, comfy home on 30 beautiful acres with a view in a rural area. I can do what I want on my property.
Nope , I think that means we are not friendly enough to behave against tje other people so setting walls or gates between us is the best solution for this cuz we are special unlike u and those boundaries refers to the diffences among us and/or separates us because you won't be lucky enough to enter this outer-world in the actual world/on the Earth. So I would like to live in a place which is basic , natural , friendly , hospitable , humble etc. in short much meaningful place , I expect.
Of the several places I've lived, only one was a gated community. Living there was not much different from all the other places, except that you had to electronically open a gate whenever you, or your friends, entered or exited. One positive is that it greatly reduced traffic on the community's roads, and there was little crime.
I would prefer not to, but it depends on my career situation and what my realistic alternatives are. If I'm in a situation where I basically need to live in a city/metropolis, I would rather live in a gated community than in the more open city. If I'm choosing between a gated community or some place more rural; I'll take something more rural.
My community is not having one. I don't have neighbors, I don't have a city, hell the closest city is a hours drive away.
Here is the best part. Not one brand of cellphone works in my area.
I don't think so. I like being isolated from other houses lol
When we we house hunting, I told my husband that I didn't want street lights, sidewalks, or to see my neighbors.
And we bought 5.5 acres in the middle of nowhere.
Nah, they're most likely to have racist elitist Karens who do nothing but bitch about HOAs.
I'd rather live inner city than within the weird suburban hellscape. We have farmer's markets in walking range.
Never again, like living in a dorm, to many silly rules made by people with no life (which are the only ones with the time to be in the committee).
If you want a Karen to tell you how to live in your home, join an HOA..
Sounds a pain in the ass having to open and close the gate every time you want to go anywhere. But I can understand the attraction in high crime places.
We already do, and there are only six very exclusive and individual properties, all of which were designed by my husband and had built, and which stand within their own grounds.
The unfortunate reality is Gated communities exist because law enforcement in many areas is not terribly effective. The walls and Gates provides an extra layer of security to enhance the effectiveness of what little enforcement does exist.
No, I don’t want to be marked with that reputation. Plus, I enjoy living in the countryside with actual land
I think your more likely to suffer violence at home then by thugs so I would not say gated communities are that much better than regular communities
Fuck no. I am so perturbed by some asshole at the gate monitoring my comings & goings.
Yes, now that I'm older it makes sense.
My wife has friends in Florida that live in them.
Nice to be in, quiet.
I’d rather put those funds into land. Give me space.
Nope. I'd be kicked out in less then a year. It's way to expensive to fallow rules
Yes, the way things are going I would like to live in a gated community with all the politicians that caused this mess in the first place.,
I could never do it. I dintget the appeal. I like living in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.
Fuck no, those always have nosy HOAs and I don’t do well with people trying to tell me what to do with my property
I live in a very low crime, racially mixed community. No problems here.
I live on a gated community, but not like in the picture.
A lot poorer.
It can be nice in asia yes I’d buy a house in a community then you don’t have to clean your own pool
Yes and I would do whatever I want on the internet because nobody is gonna get through that gate…. hopefully. 😧
I haven't seen any that are a mix of residential and commercial space. I'd prefer to live somewhere that's a short walk to cool cafes, shops, etc. I've never seen this in a gated community.
No, they usually have strict HOAs and there's little to no nature there, and that makes me rather sad.
It’s annoying when you have visitors and they are locked outside
No way please they have a homeowners association and you’re a prisoner in your own property
I currently live in a gated community with a 24/7 guard. I like it.
If I had a shit ton of money on me,... maybe. Since I don't, clearly I can't.
No my packages kept getting stolen and my neighbors didn’t pick up after their dogs
Nope i'd want a big house alone in the woods where you can't even see the neighbors house
Just because it is gated don't mean that you are really protected
I live in one and like it
Our entire property is walled and gated and more
Yes. Even though in my country it's not necessary
Nope! I definitely wouldn't!
Yes and I have with security out front
I wouldn't want to, no.
Uh... no razor wire... lol
Sure
Nope. I'd never live in an HOA or condo.
I would have to because i live in southafrica lol.
I would. It looks safe to me.
Yes because I love my skin color and white race.
I live in a gated community in the mountains
I dont mind living in one.
Not my first choice but not against it.
Ew I hate living near a bunch of stiffs!
yes, keeps the scum out
Absolutely! Nothing wrong with having a fence!
That would be good, if thought I could afford it.
If only they were all white people inside.
No rather live in countryside have my own space
Only if i were forced back into apartments.
I live in a goated community
Gated = white segreGATED community
HELL NAW
What is it with you people always bring up the white race. Jesus Christ can you people just see us white people as like any other normal people? We are not aliens.
@Alwayreckles93 You don't quite get the joke
@Alwayreckles93 Blocked
@CandiceK You get it!!
People are so idiotic they have never watched an episode of Family Guy or South Park in their life. I make fun of EVERY race by the way
My own house has two big gates
If they are nice and friendly I have no problem
Maybe I already do
