Paris, My Dream Place to Be!

Paris is my dream city to visit! The City of Light, La Ville Lumière and Lutetia. I want to visit Paris because it seems like a perfect place to live because of the weather, tourist attractions and food.

The weather in Paris in Spring and Summer is quite warm and pretty; however, during fall and Winter it can be very cold and Paris has even experienced snow!

I’m usually very hot in Southern California, but I believe I would be able to adapt in a short time, though it would definitely take some time to transition from California’s warm weather to Paris’ freezing cold winter climate.

Some of the main tourist attractions include the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe. The Eiffel Tower, a skyscraper with stairs/elevator to the tip-top, is a great place to go up and view the rest of Paris. The Louvre, an historic art museum, is a great place to find amazing pieces of art such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo De Vinci. The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris symbolizing those who fought and died for France in the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. Each of these sites is a great sight-seeing location that I would love to visit!

Most of all, the food is a big part of why I want to go to Paris. Some signature foods from Paris include macaroons, chocolates and different types of bread. YUM! If those foods originated in Paris, then there must be different yummy varieties as well. Paris is also known for it’s yummy sandwich called the Monte Cristo. Inside, there is fried ham and cheese wrapped in two sandwich buns, a variation of the French croque-monsieur. A croque-monsieur is a sandwich with whipped eggs, butter, boiled ham, cheese, salt and pepper and some chefs add raspberry jam to the filling. It makes me hungry just thinking about it.

There are many more reasons I want to go to Paris, but these are my top three! If one day I get to go to Paris, I will cherish every moment because Paris has suitable weather, cultural attractions and delicious food.

That's the romantic Paris that I knew and that I would have liked to visit.
But look at recent images from Paris. I wouldn't want to go there now.
For a building? For a museum? For the night lights?
I would have visited for the people and the fact that the "atmosphere" is nicer than the country I live in as buildings and museums are everywhere; unfortunately that changed dramatically in the last 3 years.
Shame.

Terrorist attacks everywhere, look at youtube videos of gendarmes destroying all those migrant camps, migrants moving in in the middle of the town, sleeping in tents in the street in certain areas.

Reports of tourists being harassed and asked for money, getting things stolen from them.
This last thing with the tourists is something I read online in a newspaper, but it only makes sense if being unfortunate enough to go through an area where migrants are high in numbers.

I now want to visit Auckland and who knows, maybe I'll stay there. Europe is falling apart one country at a time.

Paris is a dangerous and dirty city that smells bad. My mothers family lives there and I visit them quite regularly so I must know. The europeans get the wrong idea of LA or NY being super beautiful places with only beautiful people living there (which is because of all the hollywood movies) and the americans get the wrong idea of european countries and cities like you did. There are only a few little parts of paris being like you describe it.

None of those places are Disneyland, they're full of real people living real lives.

The macaroons are very expensive, though.

I studied abroad in Europe and took a five-day trip to Paris. I loved it, but was getting really homesick at that point so I'd love to go back again. I went during Christmas (the markets were amazing!) but I'd like to see Paris in the spring/summer. My dream place to be is either London or Australia, I've been to both places and miss them so much.

Paris is full of French people. The French hate English people, and sneer at our language. The EU is skewed in their favour. France is a contributing factor to Brexit.
