I'll elaborate. It does depend on what's on demand, staus quo and is the place worth it. If a country is super broken I do believe they need to work on tourism. People that travel have story's and inspire people

I think that both are important. The exchange rate can be significant in deciding how to market travelling to the US from foreign countries.

I think international tourism is very important, but I definitely think there should be more focus on the domestic sector as there's a much larger market for it. The problem with domestic travel is that it's become so expensive, that it's actually more affordable for people to vacation abroad.

I definitely think domestic travel should be made more affordable and more accessible. More commercial flights to less popular travel hubs. There's no excuse for Sacramento to only have flights to Maui and Oahu and not other Hawaiian islands. Flight itinerary is also a very big factor in determining my domestic travel plans.

A more tour based travel culture would also be good, or at least an improvement in public transportation, even something as specialty busses for tourists. Most people who go on vacation don't want to rent a car, they wanna relax.

International tourists can actually have a bad effect by those people telling the host how good things are elsewhere so then more people leave the host country...

International tourism allows more money to come in and domestic tourism spreads out existing money. I would comfortably say that both are needed.
