My guess would be a lack of exposure leading to a lack of familiarity, which naturally breeds a lack of interest. The massive economic exchanges between the US and Japan and Korea (and to a lesser extent, China, Tibet, and Cambodia) also lead to a massive cultural exchange. When you learn a little bit about something new, you often want to learn more, and it prompts a new fascination.
For a few years now, I've been working on an RPG setting based on west African mythology. I started to because I realized I knew absolutely nothing about it, and was curious. I've since learned a lot, and the essence of being a nerd is learning makes you want to learn more. But most people haven't- and many of the attempts that have been made were either deeply rooted in politics (and people pick up on that and check out) or quickly got hijacked by them.
People are often fascinated by things they view as exotic.
I’m Asian and I only like Asian food - do not think there is anything unique about the culture.
It’s probably their politeness and healthy food 🍱.
I don't think their food is healthy. They fry a lot and use a lot of oils.
The politeness is mostly in Japan
Which country fry’s too much?
I know China and Taiwan do, and their food is really fatty
Girls are skinny there 😅
Because they smoke and exercise a lot
