Would you rather live in the city or the country?

I've always lived just on the edge of London so I can be in the city in 20 minutes and I can drive out to the country in 20, I've always loved having such good access to both but if I had to choose one to live in permanently I'm not sure witch I'd choose 🤔

I'm afraid of living in the country. I have family that live on farms and I've been there, but I couldn't live there. In the past I've done some stupid things and got stranded in the country and that kinda scarred me. You think all those farmlands are farms? That's just a cover w/a few horses and goats. They cook that coke and meth in those big barns.

Haha 😊 yeah I suppose as much as silence can be peaceful and lovely, if the setting is off just slightly silence quickly becomes terrifying! 😲

I am living in the city because of work, but I really like to live in a country. I spent 2 year going to a college in Tennessee. It was in a small town called Martin. I really loved it. I made good friends too. But they went sour when I move into a big city. I don’t know.. my heart is in countryside but I always end up in a big city! I guess I have to finish some work here and I will move back to country soon.

Yeah you do always get the sense that you would be more a part of a community in smaller rural places! 😊

I'm in the same boat, I'm right on the Greater London divide where the city ends and countryside begins. I like being able to get the benefits of both, but tbh I think I'd rather live in a small but vibrant city with easy access to countryside, rather than living in countryside near a big city. I'd love to move somewhere in Europe or Asia, especially coastal cities like Valencia or Bali etc.

Lived in a city, lived next to a city, currently living rural (in the country).

far prefer living rural, not having to lock the house doors 24/7

also cleaner air, get to watch foxes playing in garden etc

I know what you mean! I think the city wears on someone a lot quicker, I also love waking up and looking out at trees and hills and nothing but green grass and blue sky's!

I know I think that's what I prefer, it's great having the amenities of a city but it's so nice to have space, nature and a peaceful environment!

I know! I won't lie if I have to run out into the garden quickly I don't really want to bother putting clothes on! No neighbours means more nudity! 😋

I live in a fairly rural town. People still have farm animals and there are still a couple of small farms. It is nice and quiet most of the time.

No, I worked in the city for 20 years. I left and I never looked back. If anything I would move further into the boonies.

I absolutely love countryside, so small town in the middle of fields, hills and forest is ideal for me.

I rented a place in town when I first moved out. Didn't like it to many people & to noisy.

Yeah I think once you've found the love of space and peace it's hard to go towards busy spaces 😊

I don't think it's an escapism. It's just a wish of calm and steady life, also kind of feeling of independence from neighbouring.
I used to travel a lot, so i don't really pine after the world i don't see)
