How many times have you been on a plane?

I'm at work and just thinking about vacation and where I wanna go and I just realized I was only once on a plane. It seems so crazy to me lol

I have traveled by plane only once and that was to Turkey like 9 years ago. Everything else like Italy, France, Croatia and co only by car or bus so far.

I've been on a dozen or more round trip airline trips. Man of them had connecting flights. It used to be so easy before 911. I've been on several since then, but it's gotten to be a total pain in the ass.

One time, a friend and I decided to fly somewhere, anywhere, for a weekend. The cheapest flight from LAX to anywhere fun was to St. Louis. We took the red eye out. The plane wasn't very full. We got to choose our seats and sat in the front row of coach because I'm 6'2" and he was 6'4" and it had more leg. We were hitting it off with the stewardess and, once we were at altitude, she told us to go ahead and move up to coach where it was even more comfortable.

The longest non-stop trip I ever took was from LAX to Frankfurt and then returned from Heathrow to LAX. 11 to 12 hours each way.

I've flown in single engine and twin engine private planes many times.
Once, a friend flew me out to Mojave airport where he kept his jet, a two seat, 1960s era "Gnat", military trainer. He had another guy, hot shot airforce test pilot take me up and do some crazy shit.

A couple years ago, for a birthday present, my wife bought me a ride in an open cockpit, bi-wing, and the pilot did aerobatics. That had always been one of my bucket list items.

Honestly more times than I could ever count. My first time on a plane I was about 3 to 5mos old. Although I was born in the USA, my parents lived in England, my mother wanted me to have a US birth certificate, and cinch I get UK citizenship through my dad, so I have both anyway. But growing up in Europe we traveled by plane quite a bit. Before I went to college, we took a family vacation every year and flew to England once or twice a year. And that’s not even counting when my dad took me to a movie set, so I honestly could not even guess how many, I’d say at LEAST one hundred, likely more

Lots, but I was just thinking about this recently, that I really prefer overnight rail trips or motel stops so that getting to where I want to go has some kind of ceremony about it, a slow introduction to the climate, etc.

I want to say 10 or 11 times? Not counting individual flights on changeovers, etc. Once to Detroit, MI via Chicago, IL, but I drove home; two individual round trips to Austin, TX and back; and three round trips to Los Angeles, CA. So I guess that’s 11 plane rides, if my math is right.

I've been on a plane hundreds of times, mostly on business, also for pleasure. I've flown on commercial jets all over the world, covering more than one million miles. I've even had the opportunity to pilot a glider (with an instructor of course) and to ride as a passenger in the copilot seat of a general aviation (Beechcraft) plane.

Dozens of times, because they're ridiculously cheap these days. 20-odd years ago I paid over £300 for a one way ticket inside Europe, now I can get a flight to the UK for less than the 20 mile train ticket from the airport to my destination.

Aviation fuel should be taxed.

I couldn't even begin to count how often I have flown. Only about 8 or 10 of those have been on anything the size of a 737. Most have been on smaller planes like a Beech Craft King Air or Mitsubishi MU-2. Also many of the float planes they fly in northern Canada.

I went a few times on my way to and from Mexico. We stopped in Dallas, El Paso, and on the way back we had to stop in Chihuahua on the border and then Chicago so we took a few planes. I'm afraid of heights tremendously so I am delaying going again.

I don’t know. I never kept count and at this point in life I’ve flown dozens of times. Airline travel has gone to hell though ever since 9/11 (not that it was that great before that) and then with COVID-19 the restrictions and bullshit have just gotten intolerable. I no longer look at flying as a first option, I’d rather drive at this point.

I used to ride one 2-8 times a year and if you mean connecting flights, maybe 12 or 16 times. I was afraid of airplanes but I went on them because it was the cheapest route to my vacation spots.
