Being the grandchild of an airline pilot and having had the benefits of being a recipient of the so-called "buddy pass", I do not recall how many times I had the opportunity to travel with my granddad to a great number of destinations, mostly in Europe.
Those were great times but also coming with a whole bunch of interesting stories associated with traveling on a stand-by status. I don't recall how many times I was stranded at an airport waiting for the next opportunity to make it back home.
Those are memories that will stay a lifelong. Now that he is retired, I don't travel anymore.

  I had a few favorite destinations.
  
  Number one would definitely be Vienna in Austria followed by Budapest in Hungary, then Rome, Venice and Florence. All cities with great history, architecture and fantastic museums.

  Yes Prague is definitely worth a visit as well. The famous bridge over the river Vltava that links the old city with the castle is a sight one should see as well as the astronomical clock. Not to mention the Bohemia glass you can get there and the home of beer by excellence.

  I was just there a month ago, and the brewery, the bridge is called “Charles Bridge “ and is really nice there and the statue you touch to make a wish

This year I had around 9 or more airplane rides during a trip to South America in February and possibly early March. I might have another 2 airplane rides in the winter cause we like to visit all inclusive resorts every winter, but I am scared of airplanes and I'm not sure I will go this year.

Too many times. Spent 10 years in the military so there was a lot of flying especially overseas. Also yes not the same but a lot of training on helicopters. Then numerous trips on vacations as well to other states.

no and since 9/11 I am not stepping on one. I love to see them take off though especially the FedEx planes

  There were terrorist attacks on planes before 9/11. These days you probably have a better chance of one crashing. You can't spend your whole life living in fear. I was scared for a while too, but I've gotten over it. I still don't really like it for other reasons, but I do it because I know the risk is greater than the reward. Though if I had the time and money, I would prefer to go by land.
