How do I go about this?

Please don't berate me or try and bring me down. I am here trying to seek answers, especially from those who are from US. My boyfriend lives in America. I am planning to live with hum, however, I am realising it is more complicated than expected. I want to apply for a working visa, but I heard that it is hard to get if you're not already fully experienced or in a certain career. This will be my first proper job, and planning to do schooling in US after about a year (that way I can go to universities, hear which ones are good and then apply). I know I might be able to apply for a holiday working visa? But I don't know how long I can stay there for? Do I need a job already before I go, or can I look for a job while there? Then do I apply for a working visa later, after I have chosen an occupation? I really need some advice. I don't know how to go about this, and how long the process will take to get approval of the visa. I am from Australia.

I was wondering when you'd get around to asking about a work visa. What happened? when I told you the truth about what is actually involved with getting married: the fiancée visa, you moved to Plan B?

Firstly, so called "Holiday Working Visas" do not exist in the United States; that's some sort of Commonwealth and EU program.

Working visas are for persons who want to enter the United States for employment lasting a fixed period of time. They are NOT permanent or indefinite. Each work visas require the prospective employer (the firm you plan to work for) to first file a petition with U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). An approved petition is required just to apply for a work visa.

Bottomline: the first thing you need to do is to find a US business which wants to hire you. If you can't do that then you are finished before you ever started.

Thank you for your response. I'm so sorry, but did you comment on a previous post I made? I haven't been able to preview my old posts for some reason. We could either decide to get engaged or married, but I really don't want to pressure him. And despite us having numerous talks about settling down soon, marriage and having children, I don't know if he would want to get married right away. Are you able to maybe go over the fiancé visa thing again please?

That would make sense as to why I couldn't necessarily find the working holiday visa in USA. I am able to travel to US for three months without a visa as I am from Aus. But if it is with the Commonwealth type of program, could I potentially get it for US considering I'm from AUS?

It's really tough. I don't actually have work experience as I am a carer for a family member and still currently studying. I was just hoping to find something for a year to work as, and then find a new permanent job after living in America for a bit. Could that be possible? Maybe at that stage, my boyfriend and I would either be engaged or married. Is there any type of jobs or organisations that would take AUS citizens in to work for, other than farming? Worse case scenario, I would do farming. I just want to be closer with my boyfriend.

So the best advice is to start applying for jobs now, before applying for a working visa?

As far as I know if you are married to him you can go to USA and will get citizenship of USA very easily

I am not married to him. We are just dating. However, we have spoken about marriage, and from what he's said in the past, maybe getting closer to it. I don't think there are any visas specifically for dating, only for fiance's or married couples

That's true. I don't know if he wants to marry yet. I will let him decide. We both are very serious about one another, but whether he wants marriage right now, I don't know. I also don't want to bring it up because I don't want him to think he has to marry me

For several months now. But we both are serious about each other. And like stated, we do speak about children and settling down soon. But this will be my first time going to him, so I don't know if he would want to marry.
