Hard to say we are not, I mean I live in California and it still amazes me how much it has changed from the 1980's. I mean I remember people flipping out in the mid 90s about it and now its like 20 ft lower. I mean honestly I am not not saying its just climate change... population in California in 1980 was 26.6 million and today its over 39 million. The average water consumption for a person is 180 gallons. So in last 40 years the population has increased by 13 million in California, and that's is 2.3 billion more gallons of water consumption per year.

Yes the global warming has had a impact but the globe has been warming since the last ice age, but it is picking up at more rapid pace... but its hard to say when it will start cooling again.

Please do not make this about immigration, the total population in the US has increased by 100 million in the last 50 years and immigration accounts for about 40 million of that so that does have impact.

Then have cities like Las Vegas and Los Anglos with bloated populations that can not sustain it with its on regional water resources.

But scientist do say the the global population is about 7 billion, and the planet can only sustain about 10 to 12 Billion before fresh water resources become critical... so honestly with drought, we have to cut down on consumption and population control will become an issue in the next 50 years... and that will have geopolitical concerns.

We need to build thorium based atomic power plants and desalination facilities aa well as an aquaduct network immediately.
