The water problem is going to cause problems in Canada to once the glacier in the rockies melts.
Climate change means that either there's no precipitation at all or it all comes at once, causes floods and is gone in a few weeks instead of being caught as snow and sustaining agriculture with a slow melt.
It's not just California, the hoover dam is barely generating power, aquifers in the plains are being depleted for the first time in history.
We're not just in trouble, we're full on fucked. Even if we stopped holding our dicks and stated building desalination plants, reservoirs and aquaducts immediately we can't finish them in time to prevent the coming famine.
It would take an effort that hasn't been seen since ww2, and that's very unlikely because the economy is already crashing. You can't organize this kind of work when supply chains are in chaos and hyperinflation is already in motion.
That is sad but there's a lot of truth there.
Who would have thought that we would have to pay for water. Like bottled water in stores.
I am sure that it will only keep getting worse. Through shortages and pollution.

We abused water water in its own way is our God it is the most important thing on this planet and we're destroying it we are wasting it check this out did you know 5G changes the molecules of water and our fucking government he's so greedy they don't give a fuk they are destroying water because 5G is also a military weapon it can be used in so many different ways how many people out here have carpal tunnel their body aches you have blisters on your body since covid-19 reason is 5 G will be aimed right at your device whatever it may be phone computer tablet is covid-19 really a covid shot the vaccine or is it to protect you for the radiation are the effects of 5G is is causing all human beings take away 5G everything gets better even our water even our living conditions we are headed to a point of no return. If you understand water you will know water was our first computer did you know that if you touch water or when you touch water it holds your memory it knows exactly who you are the molecules in water will remember who you are and what I mean by this is you can take a glass of water take an eye dropper drop 10 drops are the microscope glass and all 10 drops of water will look like a snowflake your own personal Snowflake and they will all be the same thing snowflake you can hand me that glass of water I do the same thing and 10 drops of water I drop onto a microscope glass will have my own personal Snowflake and all 10 will be exactly the same how beautiful is that we are destroying our lives when we destroy water we hire our government officials to look out for us to make the right choices and I'll tell you what they are so far out in left field they don't fucking have any idea what they're doing
California is absolutely drying up and it’s only going to keep getting worse. What would you expect when you put millions of people in the middle of the desert, have everyone growing lawns, leave broken pipes unrepaired for days, and ignore climate change for decades?
Man I really hope we’ll get a really snowy and rainy winter next season. Might get to the point where everyone will be like the dust bowl refugees and there will be a mass exodus from the region. If that did happen though, it’d be cool if the ecosystems would start to recover after a few decades of minimal human activity. On the other hand, there would probably be lots of population strain and political tension following that exodus.
The same thing will happen in coastal cities due to rising ocean levels as many cities are just slightly above sea level.
Oregon has had high heat and is dry as Gin, which explains some big wild fires. So far we are doing ok water wise but that can't last forever. Some may say they don't have a pot to piss in. Some don't even have water to put in that pot. Things may get worse here.
If California & Canada really want water maybe now is the time to start investing in a desalination plant. Pump in ocean water & turn it into fresh water & fill the reservoir & dam back up.
I whole heartedly agree. Since we have money to sling around to everyone that does nothing, maybe we need to invest in something that everyone needs and not everyone gets.
Stars to you @daniela1982 well said & beauty & brains you have as well. As for the dam & the reservoir I wish I owned a metal detector because think of all the treasure you can find.
more people need more food, crops need more irrigation, people build on every square inch of land an pave over everything. Water does not soak into the ground even if it rains a lot.
I shit I love it.
It is bad , drought city , can you imagine wine prices soon? Less crops so higher grocery prices in fall. You have a metal detector? Perfect time to find Gold coins , jewelry, and silver. I will buy them from you and i pay best prices.
Well, that’s one way to get rid of idiot liberal Californians.
How does that get rid of said idiots?
america has plenty of water. california is not all of america
But how much is not polluted, like the Great Lakes that is pretty polluted? Too much water in some places with floods and not in other places like the western states that are dryer than a fossil.
we aren't running out of water. infact in many areas in the east rainfall is increasing
California could desalinate but they have refused permitting for new plants on "environmental" grounds. Let California thirst to death.
Nooooooooooooo!
Maybe that big earthquake will hit them and that will take care of it.
Remember the ''Oregon Trail''? Looks like a two-way lane now?
I think the shortage of water is going to be the biggest issue we face in the next few decades.
@Wise4myage. A shortage of water is actually am infrastructure issue and not a water issue.
@KrakenAttackin How is one part of the country having heavy floods and another bone dry an infrastructure problem? Wouldn't it be more of a weather problem?
It's what happens with laziness of last year and vast overpopulation
The commie-ness probably didn't help
I was not aware of this. It's America water will never be an issue.
Its only California, does it really matter
No, it's Oregon and Washington too, and maybe Idaho.
If you live in the US, it's likely that a lot of the food you eat comes from California. California produces about 40% of US-grown food. And even if you eat nothing from California, the food you DO eat will end up being sold to states that can't buy from California. It will affect you either way.
It won't because I don't buy food from stores, i hunt and grow fruits and vegetables and nuts haha
Well I can tell you where you can harvest a couple of nuts.
My ranch? Yeah I can
Yeah we got a desalination plant here.
How much drinking water can it produce in a week's time?
Don’t know, it has to be on for weeks to get value for money, supposedly it’s expensive.
That's what I hear which is the reason you don't see many of them.
Yeah big trouble out there
Having sufficient rains in Florida
