Is Mexico City safe?

I've been invited by a tourism company to go to Mexico City. We'll only be going to popular places and doing touristy things. I understand that every big city can be dangerous in some places, but in general, do you think it's safe for a tourist?

I mean, no. It's not safe. But, there are plenty of places in the U. S. that are similar in that respect. Baltimore, Chicago, etc...

You can go there and be safe.
Be aware of your surroundings and you can have a perfectly fine trip. But, just like almost anywhere else, you can fuck around and find yourself in hot water.

since you are going with a tourism company, then yes... they will make sure to make it safer for you, and you can also take all the regular precautions to be safer during your trip... it should not be an issue
