all the little complimentary knick knacks you get while staying at a hotel. Do you take them home after?
I mean I USE them, but I’m not going to take 4 plastic cups, 4 styrofoam cups, some tea, coffee, condiments, and Shampoo! That as well… I’ll use it, but I'm not going to actually take any home! I did take a pillow from a Hilton once! My god that is the best pillow I’ve ever slept on, but I told them I was taking it, and to just charge the cost to the room, when I checked out. I REALLY love that pillow! I suppose I’ll have to stay in another suite in a Hilton soon! I’d love another pillow!
Be sure to call that hotel and ask them where they bought it and thank them!
@josephinelcajon I tried, nobody knew… apparently they are bought by corporate! I suppose it might be easy to find if one searches “industrial (or hotel) pillow supplier”, and co-search for “Customers+Hilton” you might find it, but I always tip the staff… rather than leave a $20 tip on the table w/ a thank you note, I leave the tip on the bill so it is split between those who serviced my room during my stay.
Now, obvs if I see the same person every day taking care of my room, I will leave her a nice tip in plain view in the room with a thank you note attached.
I've taken towels before & all the little things we wouldn't be charged for. One year when I was a kid we managed to get the pillows 😂
But I got the best things when I stayed at the hospital after giving birth! Those mesh panties were the bomb diggity, not that I stole them, I asked my nurse for a box of them & she was more than happy to give them to me & I didn't have to ruin my own panties!

It depends how much the room is, if it seems over priced than yeah... but if the price was cheap or fair, not really... and technically I don't take everything home, I leave the cheap coffee crap.
There is also some hotels I've stayed at, that state if you take everything like that, you may be charged a fee... if you read the small print when checking in. Usually not a deal with the bottled, shampoo, lotion and such but if you take the toilet paper and the tissues, you can be charged a 25 dollar fee... for stuff they don't consider free.
These pictures look like they were taken at a Red Rash Inn or a Motel 6.
Hotels like Marriott are getting away from disposable single-stay hair products, they install non-removable bigger dispense bottles of good name brand shampoo like Paul Mitchell on the bathtub walls. It's convenient when taking a shower. Likely saves costs, and of course better for the environment.
With that said work has a charity that would mention if have any hotel or travel size toiletries to donate just toss them in the bin in the break rooms kind of thing because they would send them out to communities. I have done that before. Had about a month of travel in different cities and just collected all the bottles each day they would replace them.
I just returned from a hotel after doing work for Saturday and Sunday... didn't take anything because they don't got shi. That clear body soap, cheap af. Coffee that is in a keurig, don't got one of those and no hot chocolate packs anywhere? Fuk ooooofff
I used to take the little shampoo bottles if they had them. The bottles were small and easily fit in a shaving kit.
When they still had them I used to take matches. Every motel had 2-3 ash trays with a book of matches in them. I collected them, almost like a souvenir. I had dozens, maybe hundreds of them.
I believe, that anything that has a hotel name on it can be taken home. It is complimentary and they use it as a marketing thing.
So why not leverage it? You get quite a decent quality products too! I always take them.
I do.. but only to give to my mum 😂 she collects all the freebies.
I've never been to a hotel but if I had the chance, then I guess it would depend on what I got.
I always take a towel. Usually just a face towel, or a small hand one.
If I were going to a hotel myself and found something I actually quite liked I maybe would take it home with me.
I'll let you know when I actually go to a hotel 😂
The unused soap and shampoo, yes. The rest, no.
I will, since the pandemic if it's not used it's binned
Never been to a hotel, but if were to stay at one, I'd leave all the unused freebies behind.
I might take the shampoo and tp but I don't take towels or bathrobes.
Now you got R-Kelly's hotel song stuck in my head. And yes, I do take souveniers.
I definitely do
I'll take the shampoo, conditioner, and the tea bags.
I might take a travel size soap or shampoo; that's it!
I haven't been in a hotel in years
But when you did, did you do this?
I don't think I did.
I don't usually take them.
You're supposed to take them.
I can't be bothered with all that junk.
I do take them home after
