I'm Canadian and I thought about going to the United States to spend time with a woman that I met online one time. Then she planned a whole trip to fly and come stay with me in my city instead. It turned out she wasn't as separated from her husband as she claimed, and he started messaging and harassing me. I told her not to come see me.

I haven't been out of Canada since I was a kid so I'm not a very experienced traveller. I have seen some border patrol reality shows here and I know that they do take security seriously. You probably don't want to try to bring a lot of stuff into Canada, definitely no firearms and you may have to state your business, how long you intend to stay, and be fully transoarent. I bet it's difficult to get in if you have a criminal record as well, but I'm sure there's more experienced people here to share their information about it.
All I know is that if you're coming to Canada, June, July, and August are the months when it's nicest here. If you wait until fall you can see all the leaves change color, but then our terrible winter begins, lol.

I'm in Alberta so I don't really go to Saskatchewan much, lol.
You should get him to take you to the Rocky Mountains (Jasper and Banff) in Alberta and BC. It's a beautiful drive through there.
Saskatchewan is like flat farm land for miles and miles as the joke goes.
You can watch your dog run away from home for 3 days in Saskatchewan.

It probably depends how far you live from the border, and what you expect from this relationship long-term.
When I was in love with that American woman I used to stare at the highway sometimes and fantasize about just driving south for days and getting to hold her.
The reality of our lives, her messed up marriage, and us both having kids in two different countries was a lot to get past. Everything was too much to overcome if we honestly wanted to live together. When she was going to come to see me, all I could think about is how much it's gonna hurt when she has to leave. Being in different countries is something you two really have to factor in, and decide what the future holds before your heart gets too invested.
