I was born and raised in the USA, and moved to Canada for school and now I’m trying to immigrate. Just the healthcare alone is so much better!!
I had a friend break her wrist in Toronto. She walked into a hospital got an x-ray, had the bones reset, got medications, a cast, and a follow up appointment set up within 4 hours. All free. Completely free.
How much would it cost if that happened in the US?
oh god, tens of thousands of dollars if you are uninsured. And thousands if you are insured (deductibles, BS paper work, etc).
American healthcare system is absolutely atrocious. You don't really understand how bad it is until you see the system in other countries. Canadians pay less than half (in tax) for free healthcare as americans do for bad private insurance.
How about not getting injured and using your head for once? I’ve had no issues
@White_Boy_506 So your solution to america's having the worst heathcare system in the developed world is to... not get sick?
@White_Boy_506 dude what happens when you get old?
@Levin oh wow I liked minnesota becuase they seemed really fit there when I visited there last
I used to think Canada. Then the past 18 months hit, and seriously, fuck that country. Almost as bad as Australia in its authoritarianism.
Both countries kind of suck.
US you live to work. Only get something stupid like 10 days annual leave per year. If you break a leg you're going to be about 5 million dollars in debt.
Stick me in the mid Atlantic ocean.
Pretty insane! I'm from the UK
I liked america more than Canada if I'm honest seemed to have more opportunities and good places to travel. But it's sad that the health care is expensive
When I lived in Canada I'd always travel down to america every opportunity I had 😂😂
Yes I had a few people at the stores complimenting my accent a lot haha
Pro'ly Canada.
Maybe because it is still a Crown territory.
Or the no guns part.
Or the neighbours who care.
I mean I'd be very comfortable with a gun, but Americans are extortionist of Europe for defense they shouldn't be providing at all if they want to charge for it, so - Canada
Both are countries I wouldn’t really want to go to, to live there permanently but if I had to choose- it would be Canada.
Where would you go?
@Asker For now, England is just fine for me. I could possibly see myself moving to Turkey in the future though, that said I could just end up staying in England all my life- I’d be fine with either really, we don’t really know what the future holds for any of us though☺️🤷🏾♀️
@Levin It’s not that I dislike the countries or anything, it’s just that I am visibly a Muslim woman, I wear the hijab and all, and there’s rampant Islamophobia in those countries- if I had family in either of them, that would be different, but I don’t have family there and Islamophobia makes it seem not wise for me as a Muslim woman to move to either of those countries.
Not to mention, I think England has a stronger Muslim population than the USA and Canada (stronger meaning we’re less willing to compromise our faith), and Canada has a stronger Muslim population than the USA from what I’ve seen.
Yes dont go there absolutely mess for racism way worse than the uk
@Asker The UK has its racist parts too, depending on where you go but luckily for me I’m from a diverse town where those incidents don’t happen often.

I'd like to go to Canada but I'm sticking with the USA. I know the USA is not perfect but it's my home. No country is prefect. Canada is too cold and you have to pay more in taxes. I don't even want to leave NY
are you kidding? The "thought police" are a real thing in Canada now. You can be arrested for your own personal opinions. At least in the USA, we ain't that far gone yet.
Canada is the only country in the world whose citizens pay more taxes than corporations.
And to the ol' "but muh free healthcare."
Yeah, and how much did I spend in healthcare costs last year? Ah, that's right, zero.
The ONLY reason I would choose Canada is for the Climate, but even then the US has Alaska, so...
I have never been to Canada ironically I live in Washington state I would love to visit Canada and see the spiritual bears. I would never live in Canada my second choice as far as countries to live in would be Japan
Canada is nice but USA is my home. Besides I think Canada is too cold.
I would like to live in America. Because there is no racism in America. because there are people of all nationalities there. but i think i will be ostracized in Canada because of my religion (I don't care about religion, anyway... nevermind this) and nationality.
Canada - nationalized health care. I could actually retire in Canada. I can't retire in the US of A.
Why can't you retire
As a country, I’d prefer Canada. But I have family in the USA so I’ll probably go for USA
There's nothing appealing to me about Canada.
I lived in Canada for 2 years and I agree I was super bored of ontario 😂😂 back in the UK now. I've travelled in the US and just thought it had more to do
Canada is turning into an authoritarian cuck-fest, serving the interests of the Chinese.
Are you from Canada? I used to live in toronto and it had a lot of chinese people.
Just over the boarder in Maine, lots of friends in Canada that I've barely heard from since COVID kicked off. I've no problems with the Chinese as a people, for clarification. I speak mostly of things done by the Canadian government over the last 24 months.
What kind of bad things?
Well, for one, suspending national elections...
thenationaltelegraph.com/.../only-one-mp-votes-against-motion-to-suspend-federal-election-while-pandemic-continues
Add to that continuous lockdowns, the finding of indigenous mass graves, Chinese troops in country for training, UN equipment being photographed in rail yards around the country. Lots of little things. It makes me quite concerned because I've always had an affinity for Canada, being so close.
I know I think toronto had the longest lockdown in Toronto in the world
It's really depressing.
Seems like they have 2 cases and the whole place is in lockdown
I have a hard time believing the lockdowns are in good faith
Canada doesn’t trust it’s citizens with semi automatic weapons.
For liberty and climate, the USA and not Canada.
People are more free in Canada. Free healthcare means you are not tied to your job for healthcare, you can do whatever you want. You are more free from gun violence, you live longer, healthier, better educated. All those are liberty.
Most of all if you are poor you have a much higher chance of becoming middle class in Canada compared to the USA, where there is so little social support poor people stay poor.
@Zeldaismyqueen very true! I'm glad I live in Scotland where tuition and health care are free. I was able to go back to uni and start something new! This wouldn't be as simple in the USA
@Zeldaismyqueen Canada has gone full on fascist the past 18 months hasn't it? There's no way people are free there.
not Canada , it is a socialist state. You don't have freedom there. Gov't tries to control everything.
I have heard plenty of bad shit about Canada too. At least in the US we can move to a state that is more like we are politically. From there we can plan the destruction of our enemies
US by far but politically the US is approaching Canadian levels.
Where the pay is higher I would pick that one
Yes having better is a lot better living in this world isn't cheap. I stayed in toronto the rent was super expensive and most people live in rich peoples basements... it was awful
Never been to both but might visit both
M'erica fuck yeah 🇺🇲🔫🦅🗽
It would be Canada,
because it’s not the US.
I’d say Canada but i don’t like cold 😨
Right now,. Canada is the lesser of the two evils!
USA. Because my uncle lives there
MEXICOOO‼️The beer is cool the and girls are wet
Are you gonna get a Latina girl?
Oh no how come?
isn't there lots of latinas in america
I dont think I could either most of them seem really loud when I visited Pennsylvania
And Meh-he-co is the home of Topo Chico!
and Mantquilla aka Butters can rule there!

Since I’m already in the US and I hate moving…
