Can anyone tell me what Houston, Texas is like & do you like it? (Leaving California)?

California has became way to liberal and now it is affecting the way everyone, including ME and who i work with & has become impossible, with the laws shifting & the price of living keeps going up. I am tired of seeing droves of homeless people, who are actually homeless due to no fault of their own and victims by the cost of living & low pay wages and weird qualifications just to rent. Which Americans here receive no help for at all & I am tired of the subpar Dr's here, and the fact that undocumented immigrants are getting all these special benefits over regular Americans & combat Vets and vets in general are ignored, and they're housed over Americans everyday in the state of California.

California is headed into some real dark times soon. I find nothing special about this place anymore, Los Angeles is a dump. Go to Hollywood nothing but pot holes and old and disgusting buildings and overpriced dumps for rent & abuncha homeless all over & abuncha SJW influencers walking around the fiflth as if it isn't there. The people here live in utterly la-la land. Inside LA LA land!! lol! Maybe moving to LA is what awoken me because i moved from the Inland Empire to be closer to work & before that Norcal. But I need to transfer out of here. It's Time for another place where liberals aren't destroying another beautiful state by their bizarre policies.

It has it’s share of homelessness but not on the scale of CA cities. It’s the most ethnically diverse city in the US with massive immigration. Inexcusably poorly maintained city streets with potholes everywhere except in wealthy neighborhoods. Out of sheer idiocy and the power of the road construction lobby, the city puts in trollies that absolutely snarl traffic within the city but refuses to have trains or busses that connect the suburbs with the city, so commuter traffic is also horrendous. The mayor is allegedly corrupt as hell, but managed to defuse BLM riots before they became serious. As with almost all major cities in the US, it is run by leftists. There are murals of leftist politicians at a lot of street corners and horrible modern art scattered about town. Each of the suburbs has its own character. Sugar Land is very influenced by Asian immigrants, Katy very influenced by Venezuelans who fled Chavez, Pearland is sort of ghetto, the Woodlands is the main destination for white flight, etc.

Houston is a cool town overall, although it has its share of woke fools. At its core, Houston is big oil and I think Houston ranks. #1 for Fortune 500 companies.

I've never lived in Texas, but Houston proper is a blue liberal city with purple suburbs in a red conservative state. I've heard that cities like Austin and the Dallas-Fort Worth area are a bit more purple (with their suburbs leaning red), and I've also heard that Austin is a great city for single people in their 20s and 30s.

I heard Austin and Dallas were liberal areas and they're liberals in Houston but it's controlled because its a red state. I seen many protest go down there the conservatives are giving them hell.

Austin and the Dallas-Fort Worth areas are supposedly not quite as deep blue as Houston, but anywhere in Texas is definitely going to be better than the greater Los Angeles area.

I have some friends who live in Houston. There are lots of people, over 7 million in the metro area, which is the 5th most populous metro area in the United States. Summers there are usually very hot and humid, while winters can be cold with occasional large snowstorms. Texas is more conservative than California.

Houston is nice, but it's hot as hell in the summer and it's also very humid and muggy. But I'd gladly live there over any city in California.

100% heat doesn't bother me I lived in Phoenix, AZ and Columbus, GA two stoves and California gets pretty hot so thats no issue. But yes California is really bad.

One thing I've heard about people in Houston is that they're really bad drivers... lol. I read somewhere that there are a lot of minor traffic accidents there, but I don't know how true it is.

I saw that too I also saw people complain of traffic but they never been to SoCal i saw a few videos down there of people complaining lol they got no idea hahaa traffic here gets so built up that's why I moved to LA because it took so long to get home lol but ut is so congested it's horrible and the drivers lol dude accidents everyday I see them all the time and people. crashing poles and people just hitting you and taking off for no reason hahhaha it's weird as hell here. You should watch big ass jeeps full. of rich kids try mauver through traffic like there a motor cycle and have all that space and don't care if they hit anyone lol

I have not been to houston in 30 years, I thought it was a pretty nice place but I think it has gone downhill lately.
