I do, and that's not a given, unless you're talking from small, non-commercial folks you can get to know. Most fishermen dock where there is a market, so that's generally a port and not necessarily a beach. In some locations, you can find both.

Nope I live about 2 hrs from the beach and that is close enough. We have to deal with hurricanes and it's not fun

Depends on youe definition of near.

It takes 200~300 km to the nearest ocean coast.

Beaches of a lake are much closer, about 30~50km.

Not directly near the ocean. I’m within driving distance now and that’s a better solution. Can still get fresh seafood.

Usually, the real estate is more expensive, and depending how close to the ocean you are, the insurance can be very high.

I live in Asia. I live near coast maybe 2 mins away from sea. Its a town near the sea. A rural town. I like it here. I can get fresh seafood everyday, fresh crabs, shrimps, fishes and oysters for free.
