Is Mexico a safe place to vacation?

The best vacations I’ve been on in the last 6 years were my trips to Mexico and Las Vegas. I’ve been to Russia before the war, Sweden, Germany, among others, but Mexico and Cuba are my favourites.

It depends on the place you are going to. As a Mexican American I’m not embarrassed to accept that México is crime infested though it doesn’t mean you should always be worried. As long as you stay where there is a lot of law enforcement and touristic areas you’ll be safe. Many Mexican people are nice and look out for others so you’ll be good. Also do some research on the US Department of State Travel Advisory Map it will help you determine what states of Mexico are the least and most safest.

There are safe places and not-so-safe places. Merida, Puerto Vallarta, and La Paz are rated safe. There is a current warning to avoid Baja, including Tijuana, Ensenada, and Rosarito Beach.

Like many places there are safe areas and dangerous areas. Tourist resorts are not always safer because there are a lot of targets there.

I did a driving trip around southern Mexico a few years back and didn't have any issues at all - but it certainly can happen

No, hun, Mexico is not safe. In Oaxaca, or Guerrero—Mexican states—I think🤔, a lot of politicians became hostage of a cartel. That's the latest news.

Yes, I want to visit the Riu again in Las Cabos. It was an amazing hotel. Not in the summer but maybe in December.

Not certain about Mexico, but cannot think of one 1st world city that is not (usually asylum seeker and refugee) crime infested right now.
The everyday security situation pretty much everywhere on the globe js downright horrible right now.
