California vs Kansas. Which state would YOU rather live in?

Kansas. I had a grand old time in Kansas. I visited that region on a BBQ tour between Christmas and New Years.

When I visited California, it was alright. I certainly enjoyed myself, but it didn't feel like I was in a place with good vibes.

Oh the food is delicious. You definitely pay for the quality, but that cost isn't unreasonable. I never felt like I was getting rinsed. Q39 is next level, man. I've never had better brisket burnt ends.

I do think my preference goes slightly towards Memphis BBQ though.

The only thing about the Mid West's food that tripped me up a little was how much y'all like your biscuits. Everywhere you go has biscuits and gravy galore. I like biscuits too, but I have my limits 😂

I have never been to Kansas, but I've been to Oklahoma. It sounds like it would be peaceful. You hardly ever see Kansas on the 6 oclock news.

That’s an appealing state to many. It’s got affordable housing, low crime rates, relatively good schools. It’s a great state to raise a family

On average? It doesn't even matter. In coastal California there is a critical mass of smart people making it more interesting than Kansas.
