Are black people frightened of the countryside?

According to an article in the daily mail, black people are frightened of the British countryside seeing it as a "white space". They feel it's unwelcoming to blacks and they feel out of place.

Now I live in the countryside close to well known tourist towns. Occasionally I'll see a black person in town on holiday or on the beach but I never see them in the countryside.

Now this isn't America, we don't have red necks out looking for a lynching or the divide you get in the States. It's safe here. So thoughts, are black people really scared to visit the countryside?
