Atlanta has a lot of things going for it, including an active job market. Like many places, it also has its negatives, high crime in some areas, and traffic is horrible. I'm told that Atlanta has the highest number of LGBTQ people in the US outside San Francisc, if that's important to you.

It is probably better than a lot of places. Stay away from New York, Boston, DC, or Chicago.

It's very hot and humid there so you can never go outside, you have to go from air conditioning in your car to air conditioning in your house to air conditioning in bars or restaurants or wherever you go out. And the people are southern hicks, very backwards in a modern world.

I know that it's a place A LOT of folks go to for a new beginning. It's got a few cosmopolitain pockets and a few "country" pockets. Personally, I'll never live south of the Mason Dixon Line again, though.

Yeah definitely in my personal situation to get away from people who made my life uneasy and intolerable, I’m looking to start a new life and become a newer version that I can erase the current version of myself away. But I definitely hear you on the south since it’s where I’m from

If you're from the south and already know all the little quagmires then you'll be ok. For me it was too much of a contrast to how I was raised. (The one nice thing was the guys are a little sweeter to a girl... but the girls... ooof. Only God can truly love a southern belle.)

Depends on exactly what you want. There are small towns with dying economies that will pay you to live there out in the midwest. There are also plenty of other cities that are transplant friendly if you’re looking for a bustling city background

I guess if you don’t mind city life and congestion, the traffic is terrible there and every demographic, probably better off on the outskirts of the city, very busy there , it’s a major hub for airlines and trucking

I have, in the night it's a bit creepy, it is very ghetto downtown, but the buildings and all that is beautiful. The people there drive like crazies. There are a lot of people walking around all over, at least when I was visiting at like 1 am! I just don't recommend being out at night, pretty much anywhere to be honest because it's not that safe. But yes Atlanta is beautiful.

No. It is already the LA of the South and getting worse. I lived there. Poor quality of life unless you are wealthy. The traffic is murder.

It seems like a big city with a lot of opportunities and and things to do. The only negative things I have heard it is a little expensive and might have a high crime rate.
