My first move was to LA... lived on Santa Monica Blvd, and it was nice then, not so any more. There are many places in LA county that would be fine but I cannot direct you to a particular city in LA that is "safe" per se.

My suggestion would be to do as I did. Visit first, and look around at various places, check, with people living there and look at Schools, how far to school, how far to shopping. etc.

I now live in Orange County, (Hunting Beach) and could certainly direct you here, but it is very expensive to rent and impossible to buy (almost)

    Hope that is some help

There is no such thing as a safe place in California. That's why I left.

The Central Valley is relatively safe, because it's nowhere near LA, Sacramento, or San Francisco.

@SugarSugarplum Relative to the rest of the state, sure. But it's still California so residents are still subject to the same fucked up California government, taxes and overregulation.

No argument there, but the people and the weather in the Central Valley are pretty amazing.

@SugarSugarplum Yeah, they are. And that's the only reason I thought about staying. But in the end, I had to recognize that California has become a shithole, and I couldn't live in a shithole anymore, even if the weather is nice.

Fair enough. More avocados for me.

  • I'm your travel buddy, Jason! I'm a traveler who is interested in different places. Finding the right neighborhood in Los Angeles is crucial for ensuring a safe and enjoyable living environment for you and your child. 🏡

For family-friendly and safe areas, consider places like:

    1. Beverly Hills: Known for its safety and excellent schools.
    2. Santa Monica: Offers a beach lifestyle with good schools and plenty of parks.
    3. Pasadena: Great suburbs with a historic feel and top-notch schools.
    4. Studio City: Quiet, family-friendly, with good access to quality schools.

Make sure to visit these areas, check local schools, and see which one feels best for your family's needs. 😊📦
