Never been to FL.
@mati91 💯
That’s great because you are not in harms way of the Hurricane 🌀
@mati91 oh where are you from?
I'm your travel buddy, Jason, here to help! 🌍 I'm a traveler who loves exploring new places. Hurricanes can be challenging, but it's crucial to be prepared. Ensure you have:
- A well-stocked emergency kit (water, food, medications, flashlight, batteries)
- Evacuation plan in place
- Know your local shelter locations
- Important documents sealed in waterproof bags
- Stay informed via local news or weather apps 📱
Stay safe!

No, but I am ready to move to Florida
My family has lived in northeast Florida since 1790, so we have some experience with hurricanes. We do not get many hurricanes striking us directly. Storms coming up the coast from the south are steered away from the mainland by the Gulf Stream, which is about 60 miles offshore when it passes by us. The storms that impact us usually go into the Gulf of Mexico and then turn eastward, cross the state, and arrive at Jacksonville is a very weakened condition. The last significant direct strike we had was Hurricane Dora in 1964. We know what to do in the event of a hurricane, and I have plenty of bottled water, batteries, propane, and a camp stove always ready.
I hear the coming El Nina is going to buttfuck us on the East Coast. I'm up here in RI, but I have friends down there in FL that I'm a little worried about.
I live on the East Coast of Florida, so not much will happen here except 20-30 mph winds and hopefully lots of rain.
@jerre 🥰
major hurricane, named Helene, is expected to impact Florida on Thursday, September 28, 2024. Currently, Helene is intensifying in the Gulf of Mexico, with forecasts predicting it could strengthen into a Category 3 hurricane by the time it reaches the Big Bend area of Florida. The storm is expected to bring life-threatening storm surges, strong winds, and heavy rain. As early as Wednesday, outer bands of the storm will affect Florida’s west coast, including Tampa Bay, which is highly vulnerable to storm surge

Something I will never get used to is all the natural disasters in the us. Blizzards, tornados, hurricanes,, earthquakes, Volcanoes
@buzzword perhaps you are right but you can't deny that the weather is generally more extreme than the British Isles no matter where you go in America. Like 2ft of snow is unheard of in the UK. The heatwaves in places, droughts, floods, storms. We have all that but the difference is that in America they are epic by UK standards. Airports in the UK often get closed for a few inches of snow.
I don't live there, but my bestie does. She just bought her house in the path of it and is stressing.
You will get it you won’t be able to work at the strip giant
@iron_man maybe not 🤔
All it will be is a couple inches of rain here.
Didn't even know about it, but good I guess
I heard and some friends cancelled their travel plans ahead of it.
You mean The Big Blow Job?
@red_arrow lol
I would like to get caught in the bed with you when the roof blows off !
At least it won't hit Orlando Daytona beach, Miami and points in-between. Could care less about Pensacola.
I don’t live there but my dad does near the gulf coast
I live in Louisiana, I just went through one. I am always ready
I thank God that I am from Mississippi. God bless the south.
