What do you think of cities in north like Svalbard, Norway where it's always night 24/7 in winter and alway day in summer?

I don’t have much knowledge on them to say anything really, but I live in the Northwest Territories in Canada, our weather is similar to what would be in the US state of Alaska, which is many short light days, tons of cold winter nights.

I could never picture myself living there. Canada is already cold enough but to be cold and dark out everyday is horrible. But for some, it works.

I went to school with a kid that lived in a place like that. He said that his mother used to put aluminum foil over the windows so they could sleep.

I would make it work lol. I've been to Norway a bunch of times and their whole way of life is great. Way better than in America, and I'm not a freaking commie for saying that. I love my country despite the current state of affairs.

They're happier and healthier and it's fact. I'm sure it's difficult in the winter but it's a beautiful country with beautiful people.

Nah I think it would not be great. When I was young I wouldn't have cared but right now it does affect me when there's no sunlight.

I could live just about anywhere, and I have lived (at least for a few months) in many places around the globe. Svalbard would be interesting.

Definitely not live there but would love to spend a week or so up there for the experience. I've been to Norway 🇳🇴 and Iceland 🇮🇸 but not to the far North. It was only really dark for about 2 hours when we went

I don't know how they survive the winter. I would go crazy. As. Geography it would be interesting to experience but I would never live there

as someone who lives in a northern city, its not dark or light 24/7 by the way. its honestly kinda nice, unless when its -18C and i have to walk to school in 1 meter snow. in the summer its nice tho.
