What grace period do you give friends before you pull the trigger and book the trip without them?

I am heading to South America for about a month in late February. I have done business there already, and it is a possible place for retirement, so I'm definitely doing this trip, I have booked my flights to go down, but have not booked hotels because of course friends are interested in going, however they are not busting a move on hotel research or apartment research and of course haven't paid me any money, at what point do I say F them and just book it solo? I have friends there as well to chill with and they are expecting me either way.
