This might seem strange to people who read this but I believe sometimes driving at night is safer because there are fewer cars on the road so the chances of crashing into a bad driver are lower. I mean early at night in the 8 p. m. range, not late at night in the a. m. range, when the illegal speed racers come out to race each other.

Loved the phrasing of question. It depends where. If its someplace I want to see then I'd want to drive during the day. If its all interstates through boring scenery than maybe at night. I try to make sure I'm off the road whenever clubs and bars close because super-geniuses are annoying but drunk super-geniuses are deadly I've done the tyrans-cont East-West & North-South a few times and in a few different places.
