What’s the cheapest all-inclusive holiday you’ve ever had?

The cheapest all inclusive resort I have been to is either Mexico or Cuba, my dad pays for my vacations so I do not know what each costs but I remember that most of those places were similar in price. I would say the lowest star hotel I've been in is one place I visited in Cuba and it was still a good hotel, with one issue which was that there were lots of mosquitos and you would get bit at least 4 times a day, during a 7 day vacation that is 28 mosquito bites. But everything else was wonderful.

My honeymoon. His parents paid for it. Luxury hotel with a pool that was both inside and outside, jacuzzi bath, a view of the beach, room service, massages and a giant bed. I don't know how much it cost.

''All-inclusive'' usually excludes surprises and 'adventures'.

So I never took that road.

The cheapest ''much inclusive'' thing I had was three weeks sailboat cruising - the owner, a nice old multibillionaire, had asked me to help him moving around his boat; I was the ''captain''... but it's my hobby, and I refused payment.

I don't go on those, but I guess the closest I've come was Greece in July 2011. $700 for 10 nights and that included transport from Poland, lodging and food.

@KostasKouvalis There wasn't anything to see or experience. In Vanatu there was but not Fiji. There was a village and a tourist shop which sold authentic Fijian craft items made in China. At the village you got to sit inside a hut so that was exciting.

My girlfriend caused unpleasantness at the tourist shop. Could have done without that.

I agree with you though. Fiji doesn't have anything special you can't find elsewhere. Mostly divers go there.
I agree, Vanuatu seems more interesting.

@KostasKouvalis We had done Vanuatu and enjoyed that. Had a vague idea of tropical island and great beaches and warm water. Plus there was a really good deal - all you could eat and drink. Really wanted a relaxation holiday as I had been working under a lot of stress so a resort holiday appealed for the first time time.

The water was genuinely warm, but the coral sand was shit except were they had imported some Aussie sand.

Not a big problem though because the sea was chock full of black and white sea snakes. Allegedly friendly with small fangs and unable to inject large volumes of venom. I still thought fuck them snakes, the swim up bar is better & safer and I want to get my moneys worth of free alcohol anyways.

It was actually a good relaxing holiday so long as you stayed off the beach and kept inside the resort. Exactly what I needed.

I would like to try out the Caribbean because there are no sea snakes there I believe and I like rum :)

Yeah, volcanic islands often don't have good natural beaches
I think the best beaches are on the outer islands
But yeah, Fiji is cheap.

I've been to the Caribbean many times. In the Pacific I've only been to Hawaii, so I guess I can't really compare, but I find the Caribbean more interesting. There's more attractions. I was just in Guadeloupe. I recommend one of the colonial islands. The soveiregn islands have too many scammers, agressive locals and extorters
Just don't go in late spring or summer (except the ABC islands), because there's tons of Sargassum on the beaches. Never been in Aututm

@KostasKouvalis @KostasKouvalis Well I'm Australian and whilst it is not true that all snakes are venomous the ones you are likely to meet are. Relatively recently a non venomous one still manage to kill a guy. So I have a pref to give snakes a wide berth.

Just about all tropical waters are chock full of these black and white striped sea snakes. Apparently the Americas land bridge formed before they evolved. At least somewhere is safe :).

Within Au I like a holiday place called Noosa. It is far enough North to get the warm equatorial current and for it to be enjoyable to go swimming at 2 am.

But not far North enough to have these bloody sea snakes or Portuguese man o war jelly fish or crocodiles plus there are not so many sharks.

Thanks for the info on Caribbean. I'd never have thought of Sargassum. Good to know the colonial islands are better. i guess Jamaica is the one I have always had in mind. Plus the retro cars in Cuba sound fun but that might get me banned from the US. I'm big on history so British/French geopol back in the day appeals to me as well.

It is a long haul though. Maybe a cruise where you go to several might be fun.
