Does it bother anyone else that all the windows are closed on flights?

Obviously for a red-eye flight or something very early or late at night I get it, but it amazes me that during the day everyone closes the windows, no one wants to see the takeoff or the landing, to me. This is such a miracle of modern times, and of course I like to read during the flight which makes it annoying if I'm the only person on the plane with a light on. How do you feel?

Yeah, in coaches too. I always get dumbfouded that people would get a window seat, then not make use of it. But the one that pisses me off most is when for some odd reason the flight crew has you close them or dims them. I've opened them backup and undimmed them before. I was like, "Fuck y'all! I wanna see Bulgaria and the Alps." If you wanna arrest me, arrest me.

Perhaps I've not flown in aircraft very often, but I've never seen the windows blocked day or night, from showing the outside when the aircraft is taking off or landing. I find it especially exciting at night with all the lights at the airport, and the lights on the ground, after take off and coming in for landing.

I agree, the lights are the best part. I prefer night flights for this reason.

@exitseven The air-conditioning they put on sometimes makes the aircraft cold. Let's not give people ideas, let's keep the fresh air out, unless it's a summers day 🙂

A cool detail I recently saw: My seat screen would show me a camera forward view from close to the front gear. Awesome idea.
