I worked for a company where I travelled around the country installing and setting up data systems. I would often spend weeks at a time living out of a hotel. It got tiresome after a while.

@exitseven In addition to what I posted, I did something similar to you, only it was traveling to places all over the world. I got pretty good at packing for trips and living in hotels. It was hard on the family though. I was typically gone for a total of 4 months per year, typicslly in 3-4 week chunks, over a 10-year span.

I did for some on--location jobs. It was okay, the travel to and from the hotel was annoying.

I once worked for a company that contracted with another company to build a computer system for tyem. I relocated to the contractor's site and lived there for 3 years while the system was being built. I occasionally came back to my company site for a few weeks at a time, and lived in a local hotel. The staff got to know me quite well.

I have for like a week in the past when I first moved back down to South Carolina from New Jersey. It wasn't the best experience though because we had to be at low budget hotels. It got old fast.
