The trip would be for my birthday and I would be staying in Times Square at the same hotel I stayed at when I went for New Years Eve when I was graduated high school.

The hotel is under new management and it was remodeled in 2021 its got a rooftop bar called Beasts & Butterflies.

that depends on what you really enjoy. My wife and I live near this place and we like to visit and it has some good aspects like food and sights. The musems, intrepid museum, some good restaurants and high end shopping including discount stores for expensive goods. Not necessarily times square, that is too crowded. When it gets cold soon, who needs it? NYC needs some work, it's a dirty old city for the most part except for the upper west side, area around trump tower / wall street.

I'd opt for a trip to Strasbourg France, Annecy France, maybe Milan.

Manhattan can be fun but it wouldn't be my first pick for a vacation. But hey, I'm jaded. I had to haul my ass into the city for 10 years. If that holds good memories for you, by all means go for it. I'd recommend April-May or Sept-Oct. Summer can be brutal and winter can be a mess. On the other hand, the holidays in Manhattan are a great vibe.

I wouldn't, but big cities have greater appeal when you're young. I moved to Chicago with less than two hundred bucks when I was 22, but that was because my parents kept kicking me out because they were trying to shove college up my ass.

Yes go for sure. I just got back from there about a week ago. I live NYC. I’m sure I would think differently if I lived there, but yes it was a blast. I did a lot. Seen a lot.
