I had a cold before leaving for my Caribbean vacation, got better during my vacation, and got cold symptoms again, my second day back from the airport.

I can only echo what others have already said but, yeah, climate really affect us. That's why we tend to get more colds in spring and fall when the seasons are changing.

The symptoms come and go, depends on how well rested you are as well. I often get them a little in the evening after my in-office day in the week and then its gone again the next day when I am more rested.
