What are your thoughts on Belarus, Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary?

They are Eastern European countries that used to be under Soviet control and are now independent, since about 1990. I believe each has a majority Christian population. Bulgaria recently adopted the Euro while the others maintain their own currency, ruble, zloty and forint, respectively.

I've never been to any of them, though I should be in Bulgaria for a few days next month.

And no, I didn't look any of this up. This is from my knowledge of geography, history and as a coin collector.

Belarus 🇧🇾
Very Soviet-style cities, quiet, less touristy. Minsk is clean, wide boulevards, interesting history, but politics/visas can be tricky. More for “off-the-beaten-path” travelers.

Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Great mix: Black Sea beaches, mountains (Bansko, Rila), and historic towns like Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo. Very good value, tasty food, relaxed vibe.

Poland 🇵🇱
Strong history and culture: Kraków, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Wrocław. Excellent museums, moving WWII sites, lively cafes, good train network. Perfect for first-time Eastern/Central Europe.

Hungary 🇭🇺
Budapest is the star: thermal baths, nightlife, Danube views. Wine regions (Eger, Tokaj) and Lake Balaton are great. Stylish but still affordable compared with Western Europe.

BELARUS- If I didn't need a visa, I would visit if I was near the border, but I wouldn't make a special trip there. It seems depressing and restrictive. They have a dictator.

BULGARIA- I knew one Bulgarian girl on here. I read they're bigger assholes than Romanians, but when I saw it on "The Amazing Race" the people were friendly. But I heard life there is very bad now, and people are leaving. The country looks very beautiful and interesting. It was on my bucketlist for a longtime, but I'm afraid it might be like Georgia, which was very disappointing. And there are other places, including similar ones that I want to visit first. But I'm not saying it's off the table completely.

POLAND- I'm Polish, and I'm proud of the history and culture and visiting is cool but I don't think I could live amongst them. And like another person said, their politicians are traitors. They hate Jews and Israel and support Palestine. They kiss Ukrainian ass, even though Ukrainian committed atrocities against us. Their bureaucracy is a pain in the ass. And now, I read you can get fined for swearing in public, and for insulting public officials and religion. This is not the Poland my parents grew up in, but I will give them credit for their safety and homogenity.

HUNGARY- I didn't know much about them. I heard they're assholes and the country doesn't interest me a whole lot, but I like their rock scene and from what I read, the people don't give a fuck about political correctness or if you're offended, which I like. I also respected Orban's politics, but with Orban now gone, who knows what the country will be now.

Belarussians, Bulgarians, and Poles are Slavs.
Hungarians are not Slavs, but Magyars who are more central Asian descended.

Belarus is the last dictatorship of Europe, you don't want to go there, unless you absolutely have to. The other countries are fine to travel if you beware of the usual scams.
