When is the best time of year to visit where you live?

Is there an ideal time to visit where you live? When is it and why? Is there a major event, holiday, festival, or parade? Are the weather and the natural scenery at their most beautiful? Is it most cost effective?

If I were to plan a trip to your city, state, or country, when should I visit?

I'd say in Fall/Autumn. Spring is nice too unless you have allergies, but lots of people do and the spring pollen is heavy.

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, so it can get quite hot (110-115F highs on some days) in the summer, though there are also fairly mild summer days (80F). Winters usually don't get that cold, though we can sometimes have a week or two that are well below freezing. You just can't beat spring or fall weather, though - daily highs in the high 60s to mid 70s F is typical, with lots of blue skies. We have the best weather of any place in the world in my opinion, but also some of the worst government, so, yeah, it's a nice place to visit not not necessarily a great place to live.

My wife and I went to San Francisco for our honeymoon. That was Labor Day in 2019. The weather was quite nice then.

Well, San Francisco (the whole peninsula) is also much cooler than the rest of the Bay Area, which is inland. The peninsula usually has a coastal fog layer that rolls in around 3:30-4pm during the summer which cools things down. The rest of us tend to bake when it's hot...

August and September

Air races You have balloon races right now you have Virginia City Grand Prix desert dirt bike races you have chili cook-offs camel races you have concerts there's or just many more things in those two months

I'd only visit June-Sept because that when we get good weather (hopefully) any other time and you're risking heavy rain and wind the entire trip. There isn't really anything indoorsy near me, a few castles that's about it and a cathedral. Nothing you'd spend all day in.

We rely heavily on tourism but mostly cater for families with kids looking for beach holidays or adults who want to explore the outdoors.

The main event near me this year will be the Eisteddfod in August as it our turn to host it. It's one of Europe's biggest cultural events of music and poetry.

Well, summer started in Arizona back in mid-March. It should end around mid-November. Fall will last roughly 2 months until mid to late January where we will then proceed straight to spring for 2 months. "Winter" is mostly theoretical but makes an appearance for a few days here and there every third year or so. I recommend fall and spring, unless you like walking around in 110 degrees. We are often overrun by snowbirds during that time so golfing may be difficult if you're into that but it's nice for hiking, biking, camping. There's a rodeo in late February.

@Iron_Man Death Valley in California is the hottest but we're up there. It is usually very dry heat but we get some good thunderstorms in the summer, just not many

My city is very active. People bike and hike all year long.

The best time to visit, in my opinion, is summer and fall. There are so many festivals and events, and tourism is at its highest during that time.

You would love my city if you enjoy the outdoors. There are so many hiking trails, and you can bike throughout the whole city.

Construction is annoying in the summer, but you’ll quickly get over it.

Never. Weather goes from frozen to boiled in a week. Spring and fall- maybe a day or two at each end of oppressively hot summers.
