Has anyone here been to Portland Oregon? If so what are things one should see there if visiting this city?

I'm planning my driving trip to seattle late this summer and i will be stopping in portland on the way up.

What are things people should see there when visiting?

If you're going to spend any time in Oregon, get out of the actual city. There is very little to do there. There are some nice wineries on the way in in the Salem/Corvallis/Eugene area that are nice if you're into that. If you have time, I'd go down the Columbia River gorge and at least go to Multnomah Falls and hike up to the top. I'm not sure what it looks anymore since that kid burned the whole place down the one year, it's a shame if you didn't get to see it before that. The Tillamook Creamery is cool, but it's the opposite direction out of Portland than Multnomah Falls if you don't have time for both. If you insist on staying in actual Portland, I guess there are a couple nice gardens and that bookstore people are obsessed with but I'd spend as little time in the actual city as you can if you have time to get away from it.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's an overall nice looking setting, but the best stuff is outside the actual city. If you're the city type you may feel differently but I'd always rather be out in a rural area in nature than a city.

I was going to at some point , my ex coworker moved there.

She invited me for a visit , all I had to do was get myself there..

I will be seeing redwood national park and also another beautiful park in Oregon on this trip. Ill be getting my nature fix for sure lol
