I lived in Van Nuys, North Hollywood and mainly went to school in Burbank... LA... such a nice place to get shot. My boxing gym was walking distance from the Staples center.

I live in La La Land lol Itās definitely as expensive as people say. There are some amazing parts of Los Angeles thoughā¦ great food, beaches, entertainment, and always something to do. But like any big city, there are also areas youād probably want to avoidā¦.

WTF you really lived there too? I would say small ass world, but LA is a big ass place. Before the metro got built I was just in places some people don't even consider Los Angeles. Check my opinion here.
I lived there for a year and didn't like it, I remember talking to you about it. You'd probably fit in nice because of your ambitions and I met people from other states that had good luck in writing for magazines and local commercials. I met some good people too.
@7Phoenix7 No, that was my intention though. I wanted to do my postgraduate there and actually stay on the West Coast but I think I was too young, intimidated and homesick. The crazy thing is, I went from Florida to California, then back to Florida, then Wisconsin for postgraduate and ended up STAYING in Wisconsin š¤¦ Yeah, I didn't see that coming lol
@Beckybooboo What did you think of UCLA? Most people who I know who went there, say that it is overrated. Lots of competition to get into a college that is so-so maybe? And that part of LA is crowded, as is most of LA.
@ArrowheadSW I wouldn't say it's a "so-so" university. It's an elite college for postgraduate degrees. I transferred from Florida State, which is a good college but not necessarily for postgraduate degrees. But, yes, UCLA, is crowded, not very friendly and actually hostile at times lol In the year I lived there, I only made one good friend! I ended up transferring back to Florida State, to get my undergraduate in biology and was accepted to the Medical College of Wisconsin. After moving there, I had like five friends the first day! šš I think I may have been young and inexperienced when I moved to California.
@7Phoenix7 I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not lol but there were several times, I'd put my backpack down in the cafeteria or hall (completely out of the way of foot traffic) just to take a break and people would literally walk toward it and make rude comments šš Like, "Oh, I guess she thinks she owns the place! She can just set her sh*t anywhere"! Like I said, I was just way to young lol I cried a few times. Like my uncle said, "Becky, if you ever moved to NYC, you'd come home in a straight jacket".
@Beckybooboo So you are currently a medical student? Awesome. When I chose what university that I was going to go to, I chose a college that I heard was known for being friendly. Like you say, 5 friends the first day! (Or something like that. LOL) That was a long time ago and I'm still in touch with several of them. Some of the best memories were from that college and the camaraderie among the students.

I was an active daydreamer as a child. I have signed the book in LA twice, but i was there for less than an hour each time. The hall is on the northern side of the county. So i didnāt see much of LA, nor did i stick around to explore. In hindsight i should have made the time while i was there during covid. It would have been the least chaotic then. I still want to go see some of the iconic sites, and i want to eat at Danny Trejoās restaurants.
I started high school in the fall of 1969. In "high" school and my early 20s, I made many mind expanding trips to la la lands with a certain amount aid.
Also I was born and spent the first 46 years of my life in the L. A. area. I had amazing experiences and actually loved it.
