Have you witnessed or experienced road rage?

Question

Whether you are the rager or the target, share your story. If you were the target, do you know what you did that set them off?
I am particularly interested in drivers outside of the USA. Is road rage common in other countries? Have you seen it or been directly involved?

Road rage is a thing in Australia. People ascribe it an increased sense of entitlement in Gen Z who seem to do most of the raging.

Last time, I caused it by continuing straight in my lane. The rager thought he was in a lane that continued through the intersection and got very angry when it didn't. Seemed to think I should have given the lane I was in to him.

At the next lights he got out and seemed to think I should wind my window down. I didn't agree so he got even angrier.

Not that big a deal but people are notably raging if they are impeded in the slightest way.

I am usually annoyed with drivers every time I drive. Usually if traffic is flowing. Some idiot will ALWAYS do something to fuck up the flow. You can have 10 cars in a row ALL flowing at 50. Some dumbass from the other lane will change lanes into the flow and go 45. Someone ALWAYS does something to affect the flow.

Yes and one time I saw a car accidentally rear-end the car in front of it and this huge guy got out and ripped off his shirt to attack the guy who hit him and the car behind them both was an unmarked police car. It was the most enjoyable thing I've ever seen.

Try driving on the roads in Italy in the month of August... it's quite a road rage...

I had a guy follow me home. He said I cut him off in the town square. I invited him and his asshole friend to get out of the car and fight. He did not have the stomach for it. He drove away.

BCRanger10 · Answer

I don't know, I don't think so. In fairness, at least nothing that wasn't justified... I've done my share of bone-headed things on the road. I have had people flip me off for literally no reason whatsoever though.

I totally lost my shit at a guy who beeped his horn at me to turn while I was waiting for pedestrians to cross the road. From his view he couldn’t see there were pedestrians.

After turning I moved over so he would have to pass me and put my window down and gave him a spray. I don’t know why, I was just in a bad mood but still he shouldn’t be so impatient and entitled.

LiamJHayden · Answer

All the time. I'm one of those who stops at STOP signs and red lights, for pedestrians in the crosswalk, and school buses that have their sign out and red lights flashing. For that I regularly get hotheads behind me leaning on the horn. Even had one follow me... all the way to a police substation to which I had called ahead.

Some guy cut me off and kept brake checking me for no reason. I stayed calm and didn't react. He drove off, but later I saw he was waiting for me. He waved me over, so I pulled over. He got out and came at my door yelling. I pulled my gun, cracked the door, and told him calmly (one more step and I'll put a round in your chest.)
He backed off, cursed at me, and left.
No shots fired. Just made my point.

Does pinnochio have a wooden 🍆?

There's simply too many examples to draw from. So i'll just say what is pet peeve of mine. People who look at their turn signal like it's just a "suggestion". You know the type they switch lanes without using their turn signal or turn without using it. Sometimes they switch lanes then use it like to let you know what they just did. So i'm the prick that when a person uses their signal right before a turn and i see enough time to do it, i turn right in front of them. I mean yeah i could wait. We're talking about seconds here. But they didn't see any need to let anyone know they were doing it till right before they did it. Ergo i see nothing wrong with turning right in front of them. Because, f*** them.😆

Yes, someone threw ice cream at another person's car. I was in another car going the other way.

RachyRach · Answer

I was a third-party witness to a driver hit a guy on an ebike cos he cut him off

Chayce · Answer

I never understood why people think being in a car makes them impervious to harm or something. It's quite cowardly to talk shit to someone from a car and then drive off as fast as you can afterwards knowing you won't do anything if both parties actually stepped out, but being that angry when no car accident even happened is another level of just...

MrChinaski · Answer
