I recently went hiking through the Norwegian fjords, and this trip was different for me. I wasn’t going there simply for the scenery.. I needed somewhere quiet to clear my head after losing my aunt 😞😞
Her loss has been harder than I expected, and there are days when I still find myself thinking about her and struggling to accept that she’s gone. I felt like I needed some distance from my normal surroundings and some time alone with my thoughts🥺
Walking through the fjords, surrounded by mountains and water, gave me that space. It didn’t take away the sadness, but it helped me breathe, think, and process things without constantly being distracted...
That’s probably why I keep coming back to Norway every year. There’s something about the peace and beauty of the place that makes me feel grounded

Have you ever gone hiking or traveled somewhere just to clear your mind after losing someone or going through a difficult period? Where did you go?

Your trip to the Norwegian fjords sounds powerful. I’m really sorry about your aunt’s passing. Grief hits especially hard in quiet moments, and going somewhere peaceful like Norway makes a lot of sense. Nature gives your mind room to breathe.
I once went to the Azores after a very rough period. Long coastal walks, misty hills, and ocean views at sunrise helped me sit with my thoughts without forcing answers. The pain didn’t disappear, but the rhythm of walking and the beauty around me made it easier to carry.
Returning to the same place each year, like you do with Norway, can become a gentle ritual of remembrance and healing. It’s like having a safe “emotional home” away from home 🏔️💕
