The morning of October 29th 2012 was an unusual morning for me. I knew it was going to be a bad one. But little did I know it was going to be hell.

For four days of hell my city endured the worst flooding and wind possible.

EDITORS NOTE: I was a volunteer police officer at the time. I worked 4 - 12 hour shifts doing everything from search and rescue, to property protection. I seen friends I went to school with ions ago who had their childhood homes destroyed.

Sandy was nothing compared to a Category 4 landfall on New York.

For historical accuracy, Sand was a 75mph Category 1 hurricane at landfall.

The 1893 Hog Island Hurricane was at least 130mph Category 4 at landfall, which does 81 times as much damage as a 75mph hurricane.
