Pers, I'm starting to freak out. To me china is probably lying about how bad it is, there's probs a lot more contaminated people, the media's downplaying it to avoid mass panic, …. what do y'all think?

you are panicing over nothing and the notion that china is hiding stuff is an anti china western media line... less biased news reports show that whilst governmental action there was slow to get started, they are now doing everything they can to address the situation... there are huge quarantine zomes and they are rushing to build a 1000 bed hospital from scratch... in four days they already have a quarter of it completed... can you imagine that happening in france? i think its realistic to be concerned but no need to panic at all... this isn't so different from the sars or swine flu pandemics that never happened

generally the media loves to push fear. It's interesting how they're mostly downplaying it so far. Who knows what the truth is. I think they'll have the vaccine for it relatively soon, because they mapped its DNA rather quickly. I don't think it's anything to worry about for most people. It'll just be like another flu going around.

It's nothing to freak out about if you're in good health. There have been coronavirused before (MERS and SARS) and they were contained. And it won't feel like much other than a cold or a flu, if a healthy person gets it.

I think that is very unlikely, because too many people and organizations, including non-profits, are involved in the sector. With medication, there is no one-size-fits-all, as humans a biologically different from each other. So people react differently to different interventions. But the benefits of vaccines far outweigh the costs, in my estimation. Anti-vaxxers have already caused a significant number of deaths by fearmongering about vaccines.
