All of the SCIENCE! people really annoy me. I am a scientist. There's a quote we all reference often, "if we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research." We aren't gods. We aren't omniscient. Do you realize just how much we screwed up mrna vaccines before? Something always goes wrong at every single step. Whenever something goes right, that is when I'm surprised. If something looks like it's working, I immediately search harder because I'm pretty sure it's not. They all know this too. Why else do they need full immunity in case something like thalidomide 2.0 happens? The people who made it don't trust SCIENCE!. And you all base your trust on them. I just really want to yell to stop trusting us to everyone. We are not your saviors. We screw up like everyone else. (Plus, I'm pretty sure SCIENCE! got us the coronavirus, https://www.nature.com/news/engineered-bat-virus-stirs-debate-over-risky-research-1.18787 Also Nature is running defense so they can still get Chinese research articles. Don't pay any attention to their editor's note. China, after all, blocked investigations into the lab).
I completely agree. Science is not a god but understanding of nature and the universe. Less than a year is no time to create a safe, effective, and fully tested vaccine.
@Dragon_Rises @GnatSocks Well, my dunderheaded friends, as a society, we can't wait around for years because COVID is already killing us and messing up lives. Sometimes you have to weigh the risks vs. the rewards. I've known all sorts of people who have either had long term problems from covid or who died. I know zero people who got fucked up by the vaccine. And now people think SCIENCE is what manipulated this virus in a Chinese lab. So you don't trust vaccines but you trust that catching this virus won't be a problem? You make no sense to be honest. And I also see GnatSocks was banned by g@g. Good!
I was going to originally write this in response to @purplepoppy but it can serve as a general message.
Unfortunately the negative side effects include death, and quite a lot of them. At least according to the UK government's yellow card database system, which so far has reported almost 1000 deaths and 500000 'adverse incidents'. The government by it's own figures estimate that only 10% of severe incidents are reported. Interestingly today I've just heard an anecdote that the database is not letting bereaved family members select death as an outcome.
https://www.ukcolumn.org/ukcolumn-news/uk-column-news-19th-april-2021
This is extremely disturbing for three main reasons.
This experimental poison is being injected into our family members.
The media, government and health professionals are not reporting this. They are not providing informed consent. Everyone I speak to about this jab don't seem to have the basic factual knowledge about it (that it is still in stage 3 trials; what the purpose of a stage 3 trial is; that it only has emergency use authorisation, not full approval; the awareness of the deaths or the existence of the yellow card reporting system, the list goes on).
We pretty much have not the foggiest what the long term effects will be. Except appeals to authorities. Appeals to authorities don't constitute good science, and that kind of arrogance has a habit of biting back pretty hard. This is folly of the highest order.
That website looks like it's been cobbled together in a 12 year-olds bedroom. If people were really being affected at that rate every doctor in the country would be screaming stop.
@purplepoppy Shame on you. How can you be so arrogant and dismissive in good conscience. That website is UK Column News who have provided an excellent report using the government's own figures, in spite of your issues with the presentation. You're illustrating the problem. You've been so systemically inculcated, you cannot begin to question what you've heard because it is so finely layered and challenges your entire worldview, that you won't even take the time to do some basic research or watch a report. Watch the report. Do some bloody research. The report shows you how to access the figures. The first 10 minutes covers this issue.
You can find the links to the reports by following this link:

Then to here:

Vaccination and surveillance of large populations means that, by chance, some people will experience and report a new illness or events in the days and weeks after vaccination. A high proportion of people vaccinated early in the vaccination campaign were very elderly, and/or had pre-existing medical conditions. Older age and chronic underlying illnesses make it more likely that coincidental adverse events will occur, especially given the millions of people vaccinated. It is therefore important that we carefully review these reports to distinguish possible side effects from illness that would have occurred irrespective of vaccination.
Conclusion
At the time of this report, over 127,000 people across the UK have died within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus.
Vaccination is the single most effective way to reduce deaths and severe illness from COVID-19. A national immunisation campaign has been underway since early December 2020.
In clinical trials, the Pfizer/BioNTech, Oxford University/AstraZeneca and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines have demonstrated very high levels of protection against symptomatic infection. Data are now available on the impact of the vaccination campaign in reducing infections and illness in the UK.
All vaccines and medicines have some side effects. These side effects need to be continuously balanced against the expected benefits in preventing illness.
Following widespread use of these vaccines across the UK, the vast majority of suspected adverse reaction reports so far confirm the safety profile seen in clinical trials. Most reports relate to injection-site reactions (sore arm for example) and generalised symptoms such as a ‘flu-like’ illness, headache, chills, fatigue, nausea, fever, dizziness, weakness, aching muscles, and rapid heartbeat. Generally, these reactions are not associated with more serious illness and likely reflect an expected, normal immune response to the vaccines.
That would be the typical government line. In the interests of balance, some of that is reasonable.
Of course, I would pick apart a lot of that. But well, we've been over these arguments.
My problem is the issue of *informed consent*. Which I don't believe the people are being provided. The only message the news is pumping out is that these vaccines are safe. And some other distortions and red herrings like 'rare blood clots'. I've highlighted some of the ways in an earlier post the ways that the public have not been informed, and are not aware. Pretty much every person I have spoken to is not aware of the issues that I raised. It's quite reasonable for people to make an *informed choice*, and take the jab, provided they are fully aware of all the facts and of all the risks, and that they're aware they're essentially taking part in a clinical trial. There is a clear tension here between what people want to be the case (in terms of its safety profile and the wider agenda to vaccinate), and what actually is the case. We have to deal with the evidence like adults. Not brush it under the carpet. The consequences could be catastrophic.
The risks of taking the vaccine are basically a sore arm and some fatigue for a day or two. The risks of not taking it are severe illness and death.
CDC estimates suggest anaphylaxis occurs in 11 cases per million doses among people receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. The signs are trouble breathing, swelling of the face and throat, rash, and low blood pressure. It usually occurs soon after vaccination, and can be treated with epinephrine (as in an EpiPen). That’s why people are observed for at least 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine with epinephrine at the ready.
If you catch covid, data show 40 percent of diagnosed patients with at least one underlying health condition were hospitalized (including 13 percent in ICU)—versus
9 percent of diagnosed COVID-19 patients without an underlying health condition (2
percent in ICU).
You don't need a PhD in math to figure out the differences in those odds. :)
Thank you.
My husband and I have had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine and it was because we believe the science.
Now that the vaccine is so easy to get I would hope that by late June or July they would remove the mask and distance restrictions and totally open up the country. Everyone vaccinated will be safe and no excuse for someone not to be vaccinated so open everything back up %100 and too bad so sad for anyone who gets the virus. Let them crawl and beg as they die. Many aspects of travel is going to require proof of vaccination soon as well.
People can still get the virus after taking the vaccine. It is not immunity.
@HawkPerception It's quite rare for that to happen and when it does, there haven't been deaths from covid or really any severe cases as far as I've heard. Get the vaccine, dude. Don't die a dummy.
@HawkPerception Yes just like the flu, however no hospital, no ventilator and no getting dead from it and I'll take that to get things open again.
Next is between the CDC and the governments of the world travel will be greatly prohibited if you don't have proof of getting the vaccine
I had one relative die from the virus and another who came close. I did have some concerns about taking a new vaccine but ultimately decided it was the right choice for me. I also had to be concerned about the loved ones around me, some of whom are vulnerable to this virus. I took the Moderna vaccine. The mRNA platform has been in development for over a decade including various human trials beyond the COVID trials, so I saw it as an acceptable risk... but every individual will have to make their own decision on it.

I'm all vaccinated, but I had Covid back in July 2020 too. Have you noticed that a good portion of people who refuse to take it:
* are staunch right wing Republicans
* are "Big Lie" believers and trump supporters
* think Covid is just another flu, if they believe it's not a hoax
* think that it could be a hoax because they don't know anyone personally who's died from it, and if they do, that person was old, sickly and would have died anyway from a regular flu
* won't volunteer to work on the Covid unit of a hospital with no personal protection - because maybe it isn't a really a hoax !!
LOL
Yeah people are idiots. Remember when Rush Limbaugh was calling COVID-19 the common cold? LOL. Limbaugh is DEAD now everybody.
www.politifact.com/.../
Funny, every down vote is from a person who knows I'm right. Guarantee it !! LOL
A, C, D. The vaccines are safe and very effective, and are our only way back to "normal" life. Want concerts again? Get vaccinated. Want to not have to wear your mask in public for the foreseeable future? Get vaccinated. Want the economy to recover? Get vaccinated. Want to travel again? Get vaccinated.
yup :)
False.
About another 2 months and demand for the vaccine will evaporate to nearly nothing if the current trends hold. That means whoever wanted one will have got it and those who don't will have made an informed decision not to. That means back to normal regardless of how many people got vaccinated.
Those people will need to take their own precautions.
Oh the restrictions will still be in place, just most people won't follow them. It's getting like that now, I live in a state with a mask mandate but fewer and fewer businesses are enforcing it. I also work on federal property and this particular federal property has a very low mask compliance rate because everybody is sick of it, including the people who are supposed to enforce it.
This is ending whether you like it or not.
@snowboarder720 Officially sure, but again there is a difference between having restrictions and people following them. And like I said, fewer and fewer people are following them every day.
Eventually nobody will be listening to the boys crying wolf, except cultists like yourself.
Refusing, because almost everybody trying to convince me to get it is either a proven liar (Fauci), has been wrong about nearly everything (also Fauci, and public health "experts" in general) or evil (Democrat politicians).
Based on the numbers it looks like demand for the vaccine is going to be nearly zero in another two months or so, which means everybody who wants it will have gotten at least the first dose by then and everybody who does not want it will understand the risk. That means time to go back to normal, no more masks (not that I wore one to begin with) no more capacity limits and no more lockdowns.
OK, doofus.
I took the vaccine to not wear a dam mask. I hate fogging up my glasses the dam thing keeps popping off, Hair and glasses get in the way given that my hair goes past my shoulder blade so because of the hair and glasses there no room for the strap. Also I’m pretty sure these masks don’t work, Like I’ve never gotten a proper explanation on why California New York and New Jersey have fully mask this entire time and Texas Florida and South Dakota have not been wearing a mask this entire time except for that 15 days to slow the spread and they are doing really well. So I’m pretty sure the mask do not work.
Masks work. But not when they are down around the chin. I keep seeing dumbasses walking around stores with the mask like this. Whatever. I am fully vaccinated now. And I know how to wear a mask. So I should be good.
Just because you have the vaccine doesn’t prevent you from spreading it to others. You’ll still need to wear a mask until the majority of the population is considered vaccinated.
@snowboarder720 then there is no point is getting the vaccine. Not being able to take off the mask is exactly vaccinations slowed down. If your retelling people the majority of the population isn’t going to be vaccinated until the CDC comes out and says if your full vaccinated. This is why we’ve seen a fall in demand for the vaccine right now. And yet only 100 million have been vaccinated other people aren’t taking it because there being told they have to continue to wear the mask.
Also do vaccines not work? that’s the message your sending. I could be making out with a girl who has been diagnosed with covid and is coughing and sneezing everywhere I still wouldn’t get it. At this point if your still wearing a mask in or outside I don’t see why you should ever leave your house a again. Even making out with that covid girl my chances are still hire of getting struck by lighting twice then getting covid. At this point your just being paranoid
@Stoner710 vaccines prevent the person from getting the virus but it doesn’t prevent the person from spreading it to others.
@snowboarder720 that is the purpose of a vaccine, so you cannot catch the virus in the first place therefore you cannot spread it. I understand the two weeks after you get the vaccine we’re talking a month after. Again I could be making out with someone who has Covid and not get it and then go into a nursing home and not spread it, The flu vaccine itself as less of an effective rate of the Covid vaccine. At this point you are more likely to get struck by lightning twice before getting Covid or smelling Covid if you’ve had the vaccine.
If you want to tell people that they get the second shot and they have 14 days a. k. a. two weeks I’m still wearing the mask people would be up for that. I’m sure at this point people are willing to give up their fourth amendment rights to show people they have had the vaccine. And because you (you is a terrible word to use in this description but “ you”meaning Democrat) keep telling people that it’s going to remain the same even after they get the vaccine then people will not get the vaccine and because you Democrats said that because it came out under Trump that it’s dangerous.
By the way I have issues with The right saying that you shouldn’t get it because the government is pushing for it it’s a stupid idea get the vaccine stop wearing your goddamn mask and go back to regular life. We know the vaccine is affective we know that people who are vaccinated are spreading the damn virus so go back to your regular life have sex with who you want route for the team you want and go to a baseball game if you want we’re concert signed me up for next concert in Florida you’re paying for it I’ll go and I will not get Covid and I will smoke as many cigarettes as I want and as much weed as I want I will make out with a girl who has Covid and I bet you $1 million I will not get Covid
Just because you can’t catch it doesn’t mean you can’t spread it to others. Vaccines only help yourself. For further info check the CDC page.
@snowboarder720 yes that’s what that means if you can’t spread the disease if you can’t get the disease that’s what immunity means. That’s why you get vaccinated so you can’t get the disease in the first place.
By your logic vaccine don’t work at all So why take them in the first place. Also by that logic we might as well lock ourselves in our homes until the end of time in order not to get sick. With the vaccine your more likely to get struck by lighting twice which is 1 in 500,000 the cases of you getting covid after your vaccined or even spreading it is 1 in 1,000,000. Your just encouraging people not to get the vaccine in the first place it’s a form of authoritarian control in order to keep the masses in fear and reliant on the government.
You can be a carrier for something you’re immune to.
1. I already had COVID and it wasn't that bad, I recovered within a week. COVID is so weak over 50% of cases are asymptomatic.
2. Pfizer and Moderna both negotiated complete civil liability immunity protection for the vaccines. That doesn't spell much faith. This means the vaccines could literally give you a 50% chance of cancer, and you could not sue them.
3. They vaccines have emergency use authorization in the USA. That is, they are not tested and accepted by the FDA in the same way regular vaccines are yet.
4. Given how the mRNA of the vaccine impacts your immune system to not release a cytokine storm, there is concern it could alter your cells' reactions to immune threats and cause cancer cells to not be killed properly. (you literally get cancer every day, but your immune system kills it fast.)
Eh, I'm somewhere in the middle. I'm not "anti vax" by any stretch and have just about every vaccine under the sun. I was actually gearing up to get the J&J shot a couple weeks ago when they temporarily pulled it due to rare blood clotting in females. Well, one of those females lived close by me. What they didn't report is that she's actually in an induced coma and has needed 3 surgeries for blood clots in her brain. She's only 18. This made me majorly side-eye everything. If the shots were truly FDA approved and not just emergency authorized and had gone through the traditional years of rigorous testing including on animals, then ok. But since they bypassed all that, as of now, I have no interest in being an unofficial lab rat.
I completely agree. People should not be volunteering to be lab rats. It also modifies the human genome. I wouldn't want to be a GMO human.
This was rushed no testing if something happens in a year or two you can not sue. Blood clots Fluid in lungs sudden death from one hour to six weeks after shots. This is only a few of the problems so far. Of course Face book took down the Covid19 site because of some fake made up bullshit. Before it shut down it had thousands of horror stories of vaccine reactions so I will wait a while longer. Government s lie and lie and lie and flip and flop just look at their Doctor changes like the wind. Everyday something different what ever the Government tells him parrots
Because despite all the stupid politics going on in our country I trust our scientific community and the process to get something approved is solid. You have go through 4 phases with plenty of testing and rinse and repeating before something is approved. So that's why I took the vaccine. People also wanna complain about it being too rushed or not knowing the ingredients that's in these vaccines and drugs. I'll I will say to that is that people don't know half the shit they are eating in all these processed foods and yet they still choose to eat them.
I'm getting it. I'm the type of person who will catch a flu and hold on to it for a month, I don't want to risk catching covid and having it damage my body more than it already is. I already deal with chronic pain, I don't need lung or heart problems too
I'm getting it. Yes some people will have negative side effects but that's true for any medication.
I just had a slightly sore arm after the first shot. And I was a bit sleepy that night. In 13 hours I get the 2nd shot. Two weeks after that, maybe I will celebrate with sum penis. :)
I just took it because certain people are making me do it especially when I tested negative, and like every temporary health problem someone thinks I have covid like insomnia, brain trauma and throat problems but eh I didn't believe it because I do have a psychiatric problem which is depression and it ain't new I had it for almost a decade.
Like it was persistent depression from the start then it adapted to major depression where some of my 6 senses are disruptive like I can't smell much so easily and I barely taste anything when I eat, I don't really sleep regularly, and new side effects come in the process.
Refusing. I had COVID back early February last year before they put in the lockdowns and mandates. To go along with busted ribs and working a few jobs.
Doc had no idea what it was, I thought it was Bronchitis or Pneumonia. Told me to take a couple of days to rest and hit work when I felt better. Was down for about two days then back at it.
Got blood work done not too long ago confirming antibodies. That was the last time I got sick. Been fine since.
I am neutral. But I personally decided to take this vaccination because I felt that it was the best thing for my own personal health. I do not judge anyone else's personal decision. (However, I will say that I think it's a good idea. And I can give Pfizer a thumbs up.)
I’m taking it to protect myself and others. The other more selfish reason is because I miss traveling and being vaccinated means I can go to more countries/travel with less worries. I got both my pfizer doses as well and had almost no symptoms. Just felt a little tired for a day after the second dose and my arm was sore. That’s it!
The same people who deny the vaccine because they are afraid of what’s in it are the same people who eat McDonalds, Burger King, Arby’s, Wendy’s, etc. without any issues at all 🤣🤣
And last weekend I had my 2nd shot 👍
Burgers aren’t being compared to a vaccine. That’s not what I’m saying.
A lot of these uneducated people think scientists have been sitting on their laurels for decades and all the sudden decided to get to work during a pandemic, we just never had another virus aside from Ebola to vaccinate for, and even Ebola has been solved. Meanwhile they continue to put junk in their body everyday including things like cigerettes.
That’s another thing that didn’t really make sense to me about vaccine priority. Why do the people who choose to smoke cigarettes 🚬 get higher priority than I?
They are literally choosing to slowly kill them selves.
5 & 6.
First of all it's my body, my choice. If I die of Covid that's my issue. The vaccinated do not need to fear that, right?
Most importantly, though, is the lackluster research on the matter. Which goes back to my body my choice. The risk clearly outweights the benefits. Normal vaccines usually need have 3-5 for common and over 8 years for new vaccines to research long term side effect. No matter the money and effort put into those vaccines currently, there is simply no data on the long term effects and I refuse to be a labrat for big pharma.
Same and I wouldn't get vaccinated when the virus has a 99.9%+ survival rate.
Big pharma only makes money off of alive people. Use your brains, people.
Labrat =/= making money. Read again what I said.
Just get vaccinated, dude. You aren't impressing anyone.
Because they've had this all planned for a long time, especially using vaccines to control others through microchipping to force us into all digital IDs, banking, and medical all inside of us. Not to mention they want to depopulate Earth and was even talking about it in the news right before this came out.! They've even had technology for this patented years previous. Bill Gates has already got caught in Africa giving vaccines with nothing but sterilization drugs in them as preventing us from reproducing is one way to depopulate and death and sickness is the other alternative and with these mRNA drugs that change your DNA permanently and having stated that it does not prevent covid, then why on God's green earth are you sticking poison into your body to fight something that isn't lethal but by only 3%? Evidently not everyone is born with commonse or doesn't use it. These people have an agenda and they have been the cause of death and destruction for thousands of years.
Dude, your conspiracy theory makes no sense. You can't collect money from dead people. It behooves government, "big tech" and "big pharma" for us to be ALIVE so they can profit off of us. Am I right? Just get vaccinated. We can't open up with half of the people on Earth being dopes and spreading disease all over the place.
I’ve had my first jab having the second in July I trust it and believe that the benefits outweigh the negatives
Sweetness!
Im taking it because its the correct thing to do and if i didn't i would be an asshole who doesn't care about infecting other people with a deadly disease.
yeah i said it you anti vaxxers!
Yup!
I'm getting my first dose next week. I'm excited, this is the great thing about science in the 21st century. They wouldn't release a vaccine to the entire world if it wasn't safe, not one person has died as a result of it.
Getts the 2nd shot on the 5th of May. Was reluctant until I seen what happend with the single dose. Seen it got pulled so the next day went and got the Pfizer shot. Was also needed since my wife may require surgery this summer.
I am now fully vaccinated and its been 3 weeks since my second shot. Ready to stop being afraid and start doing more.
Sweet! I got my 2nd shot yesterday. I felt crummy last night and this morning but now feel fine. Time to move forward! :)
Yes to that
I'm planning to take it at some point, especially as the longer term effects of the vaccines become apparent. I have some allergy concerns and all of my doctor friends have told me some really sketchy stuff about the vaccines on a chemical level. I'm in a really low risk demographic, so it's not super critical that I get the vaccine anyway.
i know the vaccine dosent work 100% but some protection better than nothing. Besides if it can help stop the spread I’m paying it forward. What I’ve seen is that it helps mainly by preventing death/ending up on the breathing machine. I know we got to take the vaccine again in 6 months, that is because the vaccine was meant for the classic strain, and the new variants have some classic features.
i'm not convinced we can stop the spread-too many won't take it. i suspect that all we can do is protect ourselves and those around us.
@Sabretooth true, even if half of the people take it that’s half the transmission and half deaths.
there's also the variants. i fear that that we've let this thing get too far out of control. there's just so many negative variables.
As someone who has worked in drug development. I don't take anything that hasn't been in public use for anything less than 5 years. Also I would wait for something more than EUA (emergency use authorization) from the FDA.
Voted E. I'm in no hurry. I'll wait for all those who are eager for this to have their shots first, and see what happens to them.
People have been getting the shots for like 4 or 5 months now. How long u gonna wait? I'm listening to a lady on the radio right now talking about her husband's covid death. The whole family caught it, seemed basically OK and then the husband couldn't breathe during the night and then he was dead. Now another dude is talking about his girlfriend who also died. It all happened fast. That lady was a Trump dope. She thought covid was some government conspiracy. She caught it, got pneumonia and now she is dead. People who ignore science and the advice of the smart are doomed. :(
So only Australia has people? I don't understand your point. Explain, please.
You understand my point perfectly well. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. YOU said, "People have been getting the shots for 4 or 5 months now", and I responded with, "No, not where I live they have not".
The virus in Australia was never as out of control as it was in other parts of the world, like the nation you think is No. 1, "America". We don't have "lockdowns", and the vaccines are only now being given.
The point is, humans have been getting the vaccine for 4 or 5 months now. So there is plenty of data available showing the vaccines be safe... unless you feel humans in Australia are different than the humans everywhere else.
I mean I’m taking it just because it’s the right option for me, maybe I should’ve voted for option 4 actually. Either way, I don’t really trust it since it was rushed and the whole situation is dodgy but I’m pro vaccines so...
My option is not up there.
I'm reluctant because vaccines usually take years to develop. There are no long term studies. These vaccines were rushed out for obvious reasons, but they were still rushed.
I'm wearing of unknown side effects.
I got it because I don't want to get Covid, while there is a vaccine available. And look stupid leaving my 2 year old son to raise himself (assuming I died from the vid). The lesser of two evils.
Had my first jab in March, getting my second in June. I'm getting the jabs because I want people to trust to be near me again and I don't want as much anxiety returning to normal life in the summer.
I’m taking it just to get it over with and my job requires it basically.
Good enough!
I won't walk in to live traffic ya the rate might be 35% of living but I rather not walk in at all. Similarly. Rate of not getting covid-19 is better chance to giving covid-19 my healthy body when not sick and then expecting the one that made me sick to make me healthy lol no way. I am not taking it at all.
I'm pretty sure I had COVID already. And I already take meds that alter my immune system. I have no idea what this rushed vaccine will do. So nah, i won't be taking it any time soon.
Refusing it, I'm not some fake woke liberal who lacks a brain and acts like I get the vaccine just because I care for the whole population. The vaccine's long term side effects will be visible in years, and we're gonna give birth to a genetically inferior population.
I've gotten mine already. I did it because if I got sick, there'd be nobody around to take care of my children. I have breathing issues already, I don't want to complicate things.
Already had two injections of the Pfizer vaccine. No serious side effects.
Sweet!
Already had my 2 Moderna shots. Politics had nothing to do with it.
Did you vote A?
:) :)
I listen to science over trashy people who think that the vaccines were made because Bill Gates wants to spy on us lol
I got my first Moderna by a random fluke as under 60s are not eligible yet in BC. I’ll have to wait for summer to get the second dose, or come back to the States.
I got my second dose a couple of weeks ago. i only wear a mask when somebody asks me to. I am trying to get back to normal.
It's better than not having any immune help against COVID , also it will lower the chances of my family getting infected.
life should be normalized with vaccine. I miss going out with my friends and eat out and theatre. I also want to see my family in Korea. I am worried about small businesses too. They don't deserve this.
I'm not an antivaxxer, I just don't want to be a Guinea pig for some of the biggest companies on Earth, for a virus that I'm gonna live trough anyway.
You might be an anti-vaxxer, dude. Your logic isn't sound.
Vaccines usually take 10 years to test, this one took 10 months. It's not very difficult to connect the dots and see that it hasn't been tested enough. Putting everyone into the antivaxxer label is stupid and the label becomes meaningless. There's a reason why meds are tested for so long, and on a lot of different people. Are you denying the fact that modern medicine isn't infallible, there are plenty of examples of medicine being marketed everywhere for the sake of profits, people eating it up, and resulting in thousands of horrific conditions. How many people suffered because of rushed AIDS vaccines? Does thalidomide ring a bell? Science isn't just taking whatever some glorified salesman tell you to take, it includes years of research and development, something that is lacking in this case.
Do you feel like learning some things today? You owe it to yourself. Knowledge is power!

I've heard this non argument right around a thousand times. This boils down to - the formula for a drug is changed, therefore there really fucking should be an extensive test to see if there are any unintended consequences and side effects that can't always be predicted. How is it antivax to not wanna take an untested drug that was rushed, especially when the sole motivation for it is cash? Are you really so naïve that you believe that these mega corporations rushed out this untested vaccine as soon as possible to help people rather than get billions of dollars selling it?
You have to decide what to trust I guess. I trust in half a century worth of science. You trust Alex Jones. To each their own! :)
I don't trust fucking Alex Jones, stop painting this as a dichotomy. The method is 50 years old, the specific vaccine formula being used is not. It's been neither thoroughly tested or made for the right reasons. I just can't trust billionaire monopolies, how the hell is that a conspiracy theory? 'Science' isn't just blind faith in a huge nebulous company, you know.
The thing is, the vaccines are free to the public. You make it sound like you are personally being robbed. It costs you nothing, dude. Furthermore, the quicker we get vaccinated, the faster the entire economy can open back up. I honestly don't care if dumb people have covid consequences for being stubborn and dumb but I do care about things going back to normal. :)
'Free to the public' is a roundabout way of saying that the government payed for them, which is a roundabout way of saying that everyone payed for them. Taxation is by definition robbery. I can't imagine thinking that people who don't want untested meds are stubborn and dumb. As if it would be the first time that modern medicine would fail miserably.
Obviously we don't want to get sick ourselves, plus we need to be part of the herd immunity.
I'm sure I speak for most in saying that I want this over so we can return to normal life.
The vaccine doesn't guarantee immunity or that people can't transmit it after vaccination.
@Dragon_Rises I'm aware of that but it does increase resistance, & if one does contract COVID being vaccinated reduces the duration & severity.
I voted a but it’s not fully I trust science.
I trust science more than my body 😂. I need all the help I can get! Also I’m U. K. so trump and Biden are irrelevant to me.
Got mine my last dose of Pfizer was feb 9th and I can’t wait til enough people get vaxxed so we can get back to a sense of normalcy
I'm refusing, not necessarily because I'm convinced that the vaccine is dangerous for certain, but because whatever the chances are of having an adverse reaction to the vaccine, it is certainly higher than my chances of dying from covid as a healthy 20 year old (which is basically zero).
Your chances of having a bad reaction to a covid vaccine are like 1000x smaller than having a bad reaction to COVID. For serious. Just because you probably won't die of COVID doesn't mean it can't do damage.
Not since I'm only 20. That has a huge impact on the severity of Covid. Plus the vaccine is a complete and total unknown given how long it has been around. Maybe I'll get it after a year or two.
But besides, why do you care so much whether I get it or not? Why does it bother you as much as it clearly does? That tells me something else is at play here than just a stoic observation of the data.
Because I feel sad for your poor, poor family. People like yourself are responsible for the deaths of so many people. My friend was just telling me of a lady at his church who died at age 53 because her daughter brought covid home :( So sad
Maybe, just maybe you would've be right if there was no vaccine, but there is one, and that changes everything. I'm not endangering my family, or anyone else around me, unless they also made the conscious decision not to get the vaccine because they are comfortable with the risk it carries.
Im in no Rush. Neither are my folks.
not comfortable with it 😬
I hope you never get covid
@have_a_good_day it’s Crazy cause I work in a tiny ass store. And it’s impossible to Social distance. And i haven’t xD.
Haha so Thankyou!
I work in a huge place where I interact with thousands of people on the daily and also haven't contracted it yet 🙂
I like your aura for some reason.. So I hope you'll stay safe
@have_a_good_day guess we are very lucky!
And Thankyou that’s Very kind of you to say! 🤓
i say no because I've been hearing rumors and story's that it kills people the rumor is 57% of the people who get vaccinated died after the vaccine but there no proof its because of the vaccine
If you believe these rumors - you're going to grow up to be as stupid as the ones spreading them. Please don't.
Yep, 14 and there's still hope for him. Any vaccine PROVEN to be even a BIT dangerlus has been redacted by governments immidiately.
I refuse to get the shot. They didn't test it enough to see what the long term effects were. Pfizer apparently causes long term neurological diseases. Johnson and Johnson causes blood clots. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't sinerio
I'm not getting vaccinated. Not because of some weird, wonky, spacey reason... I just don't feel like it 🤷♀️
I don't feel like I need it.
I mostly trust it but still not taking it because Im more of a naturalist
E. Our pastor's daughter had the virus. He is around her all the time. No COVID. He attends to the congregation, a few of which had it. No COVID. He gets shot #1 of 2. Next day, he gets COVID!
PLpus, the ONLY time I git the flu was right after a flu shot. No thanks!
My friend who is a pastor just conducted the funeral of a 53yo lady from his church who died of covid. NO VACCINATION. She was being as careful as she could be but her daughter brought it home because she was also NOT VACCINATED. Now the daughter has to live with the fact that she killed her mom. :(
It is entirely possible that the daughter could have had the SARS- asymptomatically AND with the vaccine- and yet still be able to transmit to others.
Talking because it will get us faster to going towards the new normal
Just waiting on my first vaccine when it comes avilable
science created my iphone. I trust it to create a vaccine.
I’m gonna try to get my vaccine shot May 5 Cinco de Mayo at Publix supermarket here in Miami Florida
Not American so we don't really have the biggest stock, so I'd prefer if people in need take them first, also I'm young enough to easily endure it, and ye it was actually rushed so I'm no trusting it, so atm I prefer not taking it.
Im refusing it, cause my personal risk benefit analysis for that particular vaccine results very little benefit and unknown potential for risk.
Also, i know that herd immunity can be achieved through vaccine AND resistance through antibodies that one develops after having the disease. They are both equal in quality and since it's extremely unlikely for me to have a severe case l, much less to die. So I'm consciously deciding for the risk of getting the disease. Of course I'm gonna socially distance myself if i end up getting, untill I'm back to health.
already got both doses to protect myself and others!
