A lady was Camping, and a bear attacked her tent killing her, the local authorities then went all blood thirsty and set up a trap and the shot it dead.

Killing this bear was the right call because allowing it to live actually goes against preservation efforts. By killing the woman, the bear made contact with a human and may associate more humans as food or danger or something to be killed instead of something to be ignored. This would carry on to any offspring the bear has and if bears become more violent, more people would want to kill them.

guarantee the bear didn't have a hunting permit for people, so yes it deserved to be killed. Rarely when animals kill a human, do they go back to leaving humans alone. They've been shown to start intentionally hunting people.
