I do good for myself, it makes me happy that I am doing my best.
It doesn't equal to I will get all the good I put in.
Having a positive mind set, will often have postive outcome.

Every good deed has a consequence. Weather the consequence is good or bad is irrelevant to success or mastery because they take hard work and a lot of effort.
Hard work, logic and effort is how good things come. You can't expect good deeds and charity to translate to good results

No, the exact opposite has almost always been true for me. Except for today when I helped my girlfriend with her bank account to prevent overdraft fees since she's going to school full time and a miscalculation was made in her savings, so I sent her the money she needed to avoid overdraft fees and she's been very thankful for it. Otherwise whenever I do something good, bad shit happens to me all day long. Like when I tried to take a dog that had been hit by a car to the vet but got bit instead and lost 90 minutes of work time while I waited for animal control to finally show up.

No. I used to believe that, then I grew-up.

Look at Trump. Never did a good thing in his life. Never.
Yet...
He gets out of going to prison in 1973 for violating the Fair Housing Act.
He gets elected President and escapes removal from office twice.
He's a traitor and should be executed as part of the 06 JAN insurrection but he probably won't spend a day in prison and gets taxpayer-funded Secret Service protection for the rest of his life and living in luxury.

I think it would be better to say:

"Assuming that it's in alignment with whatever a receivers common laws & ethics are, if you do good, a being capable of socializing will generally do good in return. But it's also very possible that they won't do good in return."

Yes it’s true as long as you define good the right way. For example if you do positive and good things then good will happen to you. If you think you did something good but it wasn’t actually good and you misunderstood that it was good then good won’t happen back, so make sure you understand what good is first.

What @wvrlxck is right is correct. Despite the cynicism of my answer, it is imperative to still do good. If not from an ethical or moral perspective, then from a species perspective. "Good" should be rooted in doing those things which help promote the survival of our species and planet (since it keeps us alive).
