Not, that a really stupid saying.
At best, it's a lame and ineffective attempt to console yourself (or others). In the worst case, it's an extremely cynical and cold-hearted thing to say. For example if someone is diagnosed with cancer or if someone's child dies, why should that be for their own good? Whoever came up with this saying clearly didn't bother to think very far.

Things happen whether from your own doing or from forces out of your control, there doesn't always have to be meaning and reason in everything. The saying is just meant to help people move on with their lives. That's why I think it's better to just Take life as it comes and keep moving forward
That's not how it works. Everything happens for our own good means that even bad things are good for us because they teach us a lesson and make us learn from our mistakes in order to not repeat them in the future
Kinda, I believe good things won't happen when you just sit around, but when you get up and work for what you want, good things will happen and sometimes like in the pic it's true

That is true. That doesn't mean you should stop working and sit there expecting things to happen to you, because 'everything happens for our own good' cannot be applied in a situation where they kick you out of your house cos you're not paying the rent cos you decided to sit and wait for good to happen to you. That's stupid.
The saying means that anything bad that happens MUST happen in order for good to come out of it.The word 'sometimes' is important there. I believe this saying simply tries to make you look at things in a positive way.
In case of breakups it's always right, cuz if there is a breakup something went truly wrong before.
In terms of people that needed health assistance: they stop suffering and you got more time for yourself.
Stuff like thatEverything happens. That's all.
If death or a crippling accident happens, it's not for anybody's own good.
Just imagine a criminal pleading that it was for the victim's own good... sounds like the scenario of SAW, which is meant to be a series of HORROR movies. That doesn't even make sense. Are children dying of aids in Africa and starving to death for their own good? Did the Jews gased in WW2 for their own good?
These are extreme examples of things that happen to people that don't happen for their own good. Good things don't even happen to people for their own good.I seriously doubt there are ever going to be upsides to being depressed. The truth is karma is a lie and the universe doesn't care about you and bad things and good things will happen that are seemingly random or because you failed or succeeded with your own abilities
I think everything works together for the glory of God and the spiritual well-being of his people. Some good things will fall apart for something else, but that something else could very well be something much, much worse
I don't think that such is the case, I must admit that I find the very notion childish and immature, as I see it this idea is nothing but a way to cope with the fact that life is random and unfair.
No. That suggests that horrible things happen in order to teach a lesson. Thats ridiculous and insensitive.
I think it's better to say "a lesson can be learned from all experiences" or something.No. A person getting raped doesn't happen for their own good.. Someone getting robbed, murdered doesn't happen for your own good lol... Someone starving and getting sick doesn't happen for their good.
I think it's very true especially in my life. If you feel sorry for yourself and constantly look at the past you can never process to a better future
Absolutely not. Everything is just a bunch of random coincidences thrown at our lives. We are the masters of our own fate.
I believe in it half way. I believe everything happens for a reason just not always a good reason
Everything happens from the consequence of choices... Whether those be ours or other...
Not at all! Imagine being a mother or father and losing your child in a senseless act of violence. I'm not speaking from experience but I would imagine that there is absolutely nothing good that can come from that
Not a chance. That's like saying God has a plan for us all. It's cute on the surface but horrifying upon deeper thoughts.
I think every thing happens for a lesson in life from great things to bad things
Yes. Everything that happens to you has a positive twist to it. You just need to find it
Absolutely not. There's too much awful shit that happens to innocent people for this to be true.
Yes I do. I feel like everytime something bad happens to me, a few days later, or even right after, something great comes my way
I do believe in that even in the things that i consider had for me it s happening for my good
