Not even close to the worst thing he's done, but this is also the same country and timeline where a mass-killing governor gets ousted for making a woman feel uncomfortable, and a corrupt doctor gets caught lying about sickening experiments conducted with aborted babies and funding the development of bioweapons, but gets judged more harshly in public for a cruel experiment involving a couple of beagles. Oh, and a prominent actor commits a homicide and even the ostensibly rightwing media outlet try to run interference for him and blame a technician and an armorer for it despite simple, widely accepted basic gun safety standards of responsibility for the firearm in your hand (s).

At this point I actually feel bad for Joe. I think he’s just a scared old man who has no idea what’s going on and is being exploited by his handlers. I think he’s just the public face for and administration that’s exploiting him.
