The truth is that in the UK a prison sentence is rarely given out for animal abuse even fairly serious ones. I suspect he's looking at a fine and a ban on keeping animals for two years.

Im absolutely not trolling. Animals are important but not enough to go to jail for. Its not like a person was killed or raped or beaten. Those are things worthy of sending someone to jail for. Animals are hunted all the time in the woods and no one goes to jail for that. Animals attack people and eat their ass up and no one goes to jail for that. There are people uprooting their almond trees because they died or because they used too much water. With a prolonged drought people will not be able to subsist entirely on fruits and vegetables.
