after the weekend is like $ 15 left in my wallet , the last couple weeks been tough to maintain anything much in it.

gas is going crazy , never seen prices this high , other day put $30 in and that barely filled it up a quarter more

none of the fast food places i go do doing coupons this time of year as its summer and there busy anyways so food is pricey too

i've been trying to sell things online but sales have been rare lately like nothing sells anymore even if i reduce the price , the items just sit for months

on my way home today found a house down the road throwing out some stuff which included metal items so i took them to scrap yard and got $75 in return so my wallet isn't so empty anymore and more to take back tomorrow so likely will have made $100 in the end all from seeing a junk pile off the road , whatever it takes to make ends meet

I assume anyone who voted for Biden were prepared for this. It was known this would happen long before. By the way, it’s gonna get a lot worse. You think it’s bad now? We are headed toward a HUGE recession. People are going to lose their homes. Homelessness is going to skyrocket. Housing market is gonna crash. Stock marcket is gonna crash. Dollar value is gonna decline. Middle class is gonna be destroyed etc.

The reason for this is:

1) Shutting down economy for covid. Covid was not deadly enough to warrant a complete shutdown. People may disagree, but soon we will see.

2) Wasteful spending. That includes climate change and Ukraine. If you think the world will end in 10 years because of climate change, well the reckless spending will cause starvation and loss, people won’t last one year.

3) No border security. Increase in drugs, crime, and immigrants will overflow the country. You have to remember even if illegals get jobs, we are paying for their medical bills which will cost 100x more than they can contribute in their lifetime.

@TransAm85 you are living in a fantasy thinking all immigrants are hard workers. No. Maybe back in their country. You can go to California or new york and sign up for food stamps/welfare and all kinds of assistance. Put 5-10 of them in one apartment and live the dream. They’ll have a bunch of kids to tie them to the states and now government assistance for all those kids as well. A lot of the labor is standing on corners selling fruits and flowers. They know how to work the system better than Americans do because they come from a much more corrupt country. by the way, where do you think those drugs are coming from? No I think u are living in a fantasy. Who does the narcotics? Americans. Mostly white people. I had 2 friends from high school die from heroin and meth overdose in '08 and '13. I am single, but almost always have at least one guest. I track my expenses and have noted about an 8% spike in what it cost today over a year ago. The first thing that will save a lot of money is to stop eating junk. Go to local farmers' markets and get veggies. I grow my own tomatoes. I don't buy a lot of soda. It is amazing how much you can save by staying natural. I know a couple that makes their own baby food. I have tasted the results and this stuff is delicious. I don't think we have seen the worse yet. This is why I bought a larger freezer several months ago.

So far no. My husband and I have enough money job security and assets and a healthy stock pile of food. other than gas we almost are not even feeling the inflation. However our parents and less financially sound relatives are starting to think we can keep them all afloat so we have cut all off financially except for the parents. Essentially the poor are getting a economy lesson on why you can't just hand out free shit and jack up minimum wages to arbitrary numbers. We implemented 1/8 socialism and in less than 2 years it is quickly killing the poor working class and lower middle class. The scary thing is this is just the tip of the inflation the infrastructure spending bill ramifications haven't even hit and the tax cuts that the former administration passed are about to expire next year. which on top of what will by then likely be double digit inflation you are all also likely going to be paying an additional 5% in income taxation as well.

This was the Democrats idea, only they want to tie minimum wage to inflation... thus when we get hyper inflation they think it won't matter they can keep printing money and thinking they can tax the rich while letting half the people pay zero income taxes.

Then when everyone except the super rich is making minimum wage, they will blame capitalism and want to bring on communism or some sort of highly restrictive socialism. They are not about freedom at all.

So skip fast food and any unecissary expenses. You are old enough to had time to build up your resources to easily manage this kind of society changes. So turn that ship around and start building your security you can't trust that everything always will be fine.

We are currently doing well financially - my dad purchased new property which makes our financial liabilities greater then our savings but selling other properties could resolve this issues, as well as paying off the debt through frugality over a few years of work.

Yes it's the same here in Canada. I'm just going out less. You paid $30 for a 1/4 tank. Try filling up mine. It took over $100 for under a 1/2 tank. Stop going to the fast food outlets & save some more money. Eat at home it's way cheaper.

I had anticipated it a few years out, so I'm less impacted than most, but I'm cutting back on luxuries myself too right now.

Quantitative easing aka money printing caused this. It's a hidden form of taxation without representation and a direct attack on the middle and lower classes.

140 my bad. Still not going to break my bank. People forget that they US is huge. Gas went up by about 75 cents were I live at least the last time I paid attention. Most of the groceries I purchase went up by 20 to 30 cents a piece. I'm blue collar and yet I purchased my home for 70k with 0 down. That's a house, shop, 2 car garage with storage built in, 2 acres of land. My mortgage is 600 a month. The cost of living is not the same everywhere. So no, inflation hasn't had S much of an impact on me. Same with the great recession, the Covid lockdown. Neither had any real impact on my finances.
