It is wise to have a stockpile of any necessities right now. Look at what happened to baby formula. What if that happens to a lot of foods? Biden already has said there will be food shortages next winter and there have been articles recently of experts warning of blackouts starting this summer due to the transition away from coal. It is difficult now because food is already expensive and most modern homes don’t have a large pantry, but I would try to build a one-month supply (at least) of food needed to survive. Look at prices and if you see a good deal snap up extra. then try to rotate through food that is stored. A generator might come in handy too. We need to start thinking like people in dysfunctional countries with bad infrastructure think.
